Trying my best to put up with the changes and annoyances in Silo (loved the books, this is my second run at the TV show), but there's one thing I just cannot get past.

cyberpunk thriller where a team is hired to kill an AI CEO decades after his death

A recent securities filing spotlighted what triggered Mark Zuckerberg’s months-long power battle with board directors at Meta — a fight that sparked not-so-veiled threats from Zuckerberg and led board members to contemplate quitting.

The world's richest, most powerful, dumbest people are paying astronomical sums of money to try to convince people that AI is great, and stuff made with AI is great. And despite all that, they literally can't get people even playing free demos. If anything, people are only rejecting it harder now.

While I'm shouting at clouds, UK gov telling everyone to stockpile for climate-change-driven emergencies while fast-forwarding fossil fuel drilling is... I had thought it was the government's responsibility to fix problems, not cause problems and then tell us to deal with the fallout at our expense.

Played 2½ hours of Sea of Thieves with the kid but we made zero progress in the Tall Tale because none of the target skeletons would spawn.

Maybe I'm being a pessimist maybe tons of people will wanna pay $2000 to play those hot AAA franchise games that are exactly like the last five entries except all the assets are AI generated now.

My heart goes out to all the PHP admins, obvs, but if they could get their shit together already so I can read the new chapter of やめろ好きになってしまう that would be tremendous

holy smokes, conan strikes up a chat with a random lady on the subway and she immediately starts riffing on his level, no problem.

Worrying stuff: imagine if Britain elected a government that had promised Sensible Common Sense and ferocious resistance to extremist politics, then tried to impose even more scything benefit cuts and launched huge show-offy crackdowns on various minority groups

Reckless for the climate, useless for energy security this decision shows the UK is prepared to gamble with our future and it sends a message out globally that others can do the same 🔥🌍

🚨 BREAKING: The UK Labour Government have approved the Jackdaw gas field. This a devastating betrayal of future generations. Jackdaw will make the UK even more dependent on the global gas market. This will do nothing to lower household energy bills and it is dishonest to pretend that it will.

Dreadful decision. The oil companies lied and lied about global warming. They knew what would happen but put profits first. This will not reduce your energy bills but will increase Shell’s profits. The plutocrats have won. Vote Green when you can like your life depends on it - because it does.

Zack Polanski@zackpolanski.bsky.social

Today's decision by Labour to approve new drilling in the North Sea is climate vandalism. It's a betrayal of all of our futures, and Labour has abandoned all credibility in the fight against climate change. This is a victory for Shell over the people. www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cw...

Billionaires get mad at things that can't be bought, like talent. Surely they should be able to write books and perform music and have mathematical insights just as well as the talented -- they're rich! If we let them dismiss and devalue real talent, we're going to pay a big price.

do think there's a danger of looking at extremely cool shit like a car driving upside down then doing a kickflip before landing, and convincing yourself it's actually lame because the guy funding it is a white supremacist

Love paying for a "two day" delivery service that takes over a week to come through. Just the best feeling.
