I don't know that there is a template or a "secret sauce" or a clear-cut lesson to take from this. But if there is one it's the idea of treating social media as the hostile territory that it is, of actually acting like you are a participant in propaganda warfare and not like a consumer.

I have no easy answers for the predominantly far right legacy media in the UK. I won't consume it, I hope it works itself into a point of irrelevance (largely speaking to a part of the population that is dying out), and I support reliable independent news source wherever possible.

The Society of Authors has withdrawn from the ill-conceived concession to the dark side that was the "ethical GenAI" charter because of the mass and vocal outrage of authors. Publishers need to be made afraid of this level of anger too.
