Doesn’t matter how you voted if you were front and centre in a Brexit government, actively overseeing the shrinking of our economy, our influence and our opportunities, while you rolled around in the trough. We’ll be disregarding everything you now say, thanks.

That shithouse has no right to opine on anything after his butchering of the NHS. He has blood on his hands and should be facing charges.

I don’t want to see Jeremy Hunt’s face ever again, or Michael Gove’s (and a couple of others). They make me want to slap their stupid faces, and I don’t like that feeling.

I especially loved it when, years ago on twitter, someone claimed "I actually voted remain", and then someone would go through his timeline and discover that person's "so glad I voted leave !!" tweet.

They are ashamed to admit the hardship their fraudulent, based on lies Brexit imposed on all sectors of the economy and society as well weakened our security and global strategic position

1].all these dickheads are terrified about talks or reversing Brexit because if we did it would show exactly everything that was lost and the money we lost because of Brexit and the blame lie's squarely at THEIR feet. they are so terrified because they would never get power again[or close to power].

2]THEIR whole using of Brexit to stir up hate and use it for argument to get power goes away never to be seen again. All the rules and laws they used to enrich themselves that they threw away or did not care to follow basically comes back and would probably hit THIER bank accounts very hard....

3]THEY are basically saying "no don't do it...think about how it will effect me". this is the only time they actually care. this is why they are terrified.

Tories that backed Remain like Truss and Hunt were simply following the leadership in the Tory Party. The minute the leadership stance changed, they changed. Which way they voted in 2016 means nothing.

I will never forget nor forgive the vile and despicable *unt who compared the EU to the Soviet Union, to the dismay of better and more educated people in places like Estonia who have first hand experience of being in the Soviet Union and being in the EU. Despicable "man".

You’ve nailed it again perfectly Sarah…. “if you were front and centre in a Brexit government, actively overseeing the shrinking of our economy, our influence and our opportunities“… It‘s those lost opportunities that hurts. Old friendships with Spanish, French and Italian families, now estranged.

It’s like a football club appointing a manager on a long term contract, then watching the team lose every match, but refusing to change the manager because he’s on a long term contract. Sooner or later that change becomes inevitable if the club doesn’t want to get relegated.

Big attempts by Hunt to try to rehabilitate his reputation …. Does he smell weakness in useless Kemi ? Is he lining himself up for a party leadership attempt … there’s sod all competition ?

And his cynical NI giveaway? Surely the most fiscally regressive act of a Chancellor since WWII, and a major headache in view of the care crisis. And yet, here he is, still viewed as a credible commentator. For shame.

He was on TV yesterday spouting the same shit, I’m not entirely sure he was convinced by his own argument, but essentially he was saying let’s appease a small minority of reform voters who are either too stupid or too embarrassed to realise Brexit was a disaster.

Hunt, wasn’t he the arsewipe conservative who supported and voted with the Conservative Party to implement that stupid “advisory vote“ to appease the knuckle draggers. He has nothing relevant to say, his judgement has been proven to be completely wrong. Thank you for your attention in this matter.

One day I hope Hunt and other Brexit flip-floppers will feel huge shame at doing ABSOLUTELY nothing to stop this disastrous project. They still cry for Brexit like it’s sacred. Bollocks to that.

Why is this failed politician even a thing? Everything he did was shit. He’s an absolute joke of a man who constantly pops up in the media as some kind of reasonable voice. He was a clown.

So we're just to live with this stupid decision for ever, he and others like him forget the demographic has changed. Millions of young people didn't have a vote in 2016 and millions of those who voted Leave are now dead. What a ridiculous argument from a ridiculous little man.

Well, a common mistake of course. I've often done it after collecting my pension and not knowing what to do with all that money

Perhaps he should remember that vast numbers of young people who weren’t given any choice, ten years ago now can make up their own minds. Many of the old who tipped the balance because of their ingrown resentments are dead. The result now would be very different.

The whole rotten lot of them would rather see the population continue to be poorer/struggle than be honest. Just horrible, horrible people.

Parliamentary sovereignty includes the principle that a Parliament cannot bind a successor - a bedrock of our constitution. The weasel words - "we shouldn't re-litigate the old arguments" - are anti-democratic.When the current status quo is damaging the economy, they are anti-patriotic.

I still remember how much trouble they had passing it and, once they managed it, it was IMMEDIATELY unpopular with the majority of Brits. That was an enormous failure of democracy.

Maybe the "Brexit debate" shouldn't be reopened in a way that allows racists and bigots to spew their bile again. The talk should be purely about the UK rejoining the EU with full speed. Absent that the UK will inevitably break up. Within the EU such breakup frankly wouldn't matter as much

I never want to hear another fucking Tory pontificating about anything after the way they wrecked the economy and the country. Feathering their own nests was the only thing they were good for

Doubling down on a grievous error - even if it was a democratic error - is tantamount to keeping on digging when you’re in a hole, and any decent politician should recognise that.

Also the man who cut national insurance just before a GE to set a trap for Labour and now keeps pointing at the books saying hmmm you can’t trust Labour, they’re going to raise taxes.

We may have to take it on trust that he backed remain, but he was still in favour of privatisation, tax cuts and austerity so, no, we won’t be listening to anything he has to say on any topic of significance. I might accept a book recommendation from him, but then again, probably not that either.

You can’t fix any important policy issue in Britain - including economy; NHS; national security; food, air and water standards; human rights; climate change - without dealing with Brexit. The debate was never closed and will never go away until the UK rejoins.

I can still see that supercilious prick, sporting his NHS badge, while ripping the guts out of it. How dare he? He should crawl back under a stone, ashamed. They don’t though, do they?

Absolutely THEY don't. How any Tory who was part of that regime has the nerve to comment on anything is beyond me. Oh wait, they can because the MSM will let them spout any 💩 and tickle their tums while they do it.

I’m surprised he can remember how he voted! I mean, the poor chap even forgot that he had seven rental properties did he not?

I just wish somebody would put Jez 'Rimmer' Hunt's hard light drive into standby. Those flats he conveniently forgot about should have been the end of his political/public figure career

The frequency in Jeremy Hunt's appearances in the press leads me to think that he has aspirations to run for the Tory leadership when Kemi Badenoch inevitably implodes under the weight of her own inepitude and obnoxiousness. bsky.app/profile/13sa...

It was a NON binding referendum FFS... & only a slim margin win (actually it was a major loss in my opinion!) from a vote that was only from a tiny portion of the UKs population!

I think it makes it worse. Knowing how bad it was going to be and actively fulfilling it. At least some of those who supported it can claim some ignorance to the consequences.

He backed remain but then delivered Brexit. Just shows how dupicitous he is, and not to be trusted.

Ten years ago, Hunt knew that some of his Tory colleagues were greedy, lazy liars and probably Russian assets. Leaving EU broke Britain's economy and allowed racists to disrupt and divide the country with vile lies and propaganda. He's not selling anything to me.

Because Hunt was so right on many other things such as ignoring Cygnus and allowing stocks for a forecast pandemic to run down or become out of date? Will take no ‘advice’ from this guy on any subject.

He didn't achieve his target of 5000 more GPs when Health Secretary. Luckily for Hunt, tory ministerial musical chairs were played then and he got moved, leaving some poor sod to pick up the pieces.

While he was paying any thousands of pounds of our money to have a shower room installed in his office, he told Cygnus to bugger off hadn’t they heard of DHS cuts?

And he’s wrong, as usual, about that & so many things. Needs to bow out of political life . I certainly don’t want to see him given any credence. Or air time. The BBC are relentless in their right wing stance aren’t they?

It's baffling why the Tories are so determined to let the country's economy sink just so they can avoid the humiliation of admitting that Brexit was a catastrophic mistake. They aren't even trying to give any reason for staying out apart from "we don't want to reopen the debate". Total failures.

Mr Hunt, another very rich person who doesn't give a toss about the economy or anyone else as long as he's ok. No one should be listening to a word that a fool like him ever says.

That was Labour Mismanagement darling. What did you expect when the government froze your grandparents. Made everyone poorer through tax hikes. Raising unemployment. And not giving a shit of tackling rising cost of living and inflation. HE ONLY CARES ABOUT BUS FARES! WEAK! WEAK! WEAK!

Why is this arsole being rolled out as some sort of Tory Grandee? He's only one step behind Truss with his economic illiteracy.

Here's the thing about the EU. In 2016 it had 26 export markets and a reason to remain and reform. In 2026 two markets remain. Very expensive cars and the weapons industry. Take Hunt out of the argument, what is EU got to offer? Nothing is the real answer in 2026.

Third eye open people mind control every thought from the rest of us with telepathic magic. Voices in people’s heads? They are other humans on Earth who mind control the rest of us. Look your friends in the eyes. They’re bad at keeping their cover. #endoursuffering

He's one of those tories who inflicted massive damage on our nation and yet who is still so arrogant and conceited that he still thinks people should listen to him Fuck him and his perpetual smirk

The same guy when Health Sec buried the catastrophic results of 2016 #ExerciseCygnus which led to UK being horrendously unprepared for #covid19 when it hit! - no we won't be taking advice from him! 😠 🤬

The EU won’t 😁 The EU will see that the “UK” (England/Westminster)is still the basket case it always was Vote for Scottish independence folks if you want to be in the EU or EFTA 🙂

A responsible govt actively seeking ways to improve the economy and people’s lives, is trying to choose ways out of the Brexit damage. IMO it’s not about reopening an old debate, rather it’s about looking for new ideas to boost the county’s fortunes. Tried Brexit, it failed.

On LauraK, he accused Burnham of playing politics over economics. But the economic argument for (re)joining a major trading block, in the current economic circumstances, is obvious. It is Hunt who now wants to play politics, by disagreeing on something he quite clearly previously believed in.

That’s like a doctor saying I told you not to take the plaster but you did and even though it is causing you massive injury I don’t want to discuss you the merits of putting the plaster on. The conversation has to be had.

The Brexit debate should never have been opened in the first place. It was PM Cameron who threw the Brexit ref bone to placate the Tory eurosceptics in the first place. He traded his countrys future to save the Tory party from splitting. So the Tories managed to fail on both counts. Now stfu Hunt.

Spot on, Sarah. Jeremy Hunt likes to remind everyone he voted Remain, as if that settles it. It doesn't. He sat at the cabinet table as Foreign Secretary while Brexit was being negotiated, then ran the Treasury while the costs piled up. You don't get to help deliver it and then disown it.

People in Britain often forget the damage didn't stop at Dover. Here in Ireland we've lived with the fallout for years: the border turned back into a political football, endless rows over the Protocol, and businesses on both sides of it left to absorb the cost.

Typical! Constitutional battle(s) aside, his & wider Tories lack of providing solutions to the issues surrounding leaving the EU at the time, are key among the reasons the UK faces the immediate problems it does now. IMO, Tory hypocrites are worse than the #Brexitoiks in delivering this clusterfuck.

Not Wrong! Different times, new decisions after 10 yrs with a very changed World of economics & unstable politicians. If anyone listened to the EU Parl’ discussions last week it’s obvious we’d be welcome. I’m in favour of joining the SM + FoM by Jan 1st - 2027. Many young people need opportunities.

Cannot be done without joining again and that will take more than 2 months. We have to be realistic, saying we're welcome isn't the same as becoming a member state again any time soon. Ukraine are 100% welcome but they haven't been fast tracked and neither will we be.

Well, make it the start of the new financial year then in April 2027. N Ireland is in the SM for goods, it’s not beyond the wit of man to bring all of GB into alignment in that time, plus FoM. Also helps the ‘frayed’ CTA that’s our own first FoM with Ireland from 1922. 🇮🇪 wishes to keep that.(& IoM).

Had Starmer not stood down the summit in November would have already taken place the we would at least have an SPS Regulatory Agreement now and it looks like something is happening with a type of FoM for our young folk. That said, there is no mechanism to simply join The SM and CU.

Gosh, I wonder how much he was paid to write that drivel. Not by the paper.... by the shadowy corporates and individuals who are benefiting from the decline of the UK?

If Brexit isn't working and doing more damage the longer we are out, then why wouldn't we want to open discussions about going back? How the hell can he defend something that isn't working? Why would he?

Why is Hunt suddenly in the "news?" He was a major part of the last failed Tory administration. Has Badenoch wheeled him out as the "senior statesman" of her Farage-lite parry? Maybe he wants one last cracker before his dotage? Hunt knows that little englanders have very short memories.
