Better still, some centre-right back-to-basics conservative thing. I think they should all eat one another, cause they’re mad narcissists.

Have to be honest here: Comic con tables are getting so expensive that I can see a point where indie creators are priced out of exhibiting. It simply won't be worth the cost / time. It's a worrying trajectory I don't see many discussing. If exhibitors can't afford to exhibit, there's no show 🤷‍♂️

I'm not criticizing those who are showcasing the accomplishments of scientists, artists, and writers to debunk RFK Jr.'s comments but I think it's also important to treat them not as ignorance, but as the outright malice they are. He made those comments to claim a US citizen is unfit for the Senate.

Highly recommend this to anyone with an interest in BBC records releases, or an interest in unusual records and crate digging. The first volume covering singles released by BBC Records and Tapes is also well worth investing in too.

So here it is, why Made in Europe and the general air of major power coercion are key to Andy Burnham's rejoin and free movement talk. A world about as far as possible away from the Brexit vision as it could be - and an incentive for the pro-EU side. rejoinrejoin.substack.com/p/made-in-eu...

Of all the bbc presenters, Webb’s politics are the easiest to read - because he puts them in newspapers and doesn’t even try to hide them in broadcasts His politics are also mind numbingly predictable

My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

I’m not a political journalist, so was gladly surprised at the community I found here last night. To Americans anxious about the upcoming elections, a key thing we learned in Brazil that might help you: DO NOT engage with the far-right online. Don’t share rage bait. Amplify your people. Ignore them.

In the past only individual campaigns' legal teams wade into the waters of contesting results in the courts. Now the GOP is using the bottomless resources of the DOJ to do this work for the whole party. We should make them log the hours as campaign contributions.

Yep. As I said, if you’re contesting the results of an election before that election even takes place you’ve made your intentions obvious.

Isn't it a bit weird how so many populist efforts to gain power involve voter suppression? Like, if you really were supported by the vast majority, who are sick of being downtrodden by a tiny elite, then surely you'd want as many people voting as possible?

I was having conversations with journalists just a few months ago about whether democracy was doomed. Look at this year: Orban defeated. Vukic defeated. Bolsonaro Jr defeated. Trump heading to likely defeat in midterms. That’s the beauty of democracy. Voters can respond. Don’t count it out yet.

A reminder: Lula’s politics centre the environment, which he mentioned immediately after, so I’m hopeful he’ll thread this issue carefully and with all needed consideration. His current mandate brought down deforestation levels to its lowest numbers since measurements began being taken in 1988.
