Famicom in 1983: This isn't even my final form. Famicom in 1985: Just need the disk drive now! The Family BASIC Pack (1984) enabled the Famicom to live up its name and evolve into a home micro. Quite a few type-in and hobbyist games were released that took advantage of it. 📖: BEEP, March 1985.

The bankruptcy of Character AI is another reminder that your data is only thinly protected by whatever a company promised in their vaguely-worded privacy notice you didn't read. www.kqed.org/news/1210436...

Gameplay footage of Devil Zone, a single-screen shooter released in 1981 by Universal. Conceptually similar to Nintendo's Radar Scope, Devil Zone's main attempt to deviate itself from the sea of early-80s space shooters is its bizarre, erratic enemy patterns.

Scanline Sunday! Snatcher MSX looks fantastic. Art is much more raw and hard-edged than later ports that progressively got softer. Truly shines on crt tvs.

Another Scanline Sunday dawns! Show us your delicious phosphors, masks, and CRTs (and really good shaders!) I've chosen some Tactical Espionage Scanlines this time, courtesy of the STATION 7 demo disc and its cool themed menu and meaty MGS demo. (PS1 RGB SCART Goodmans GTV372VCR.)
