One of my favorite sci-fi shows of the decade—of the century!—is celebrating its third anniversary today. Scavengers Reign was a shooting star🌠, poorly supported by HBO Max and then Netflix (as it was only available in a handful of countries), but I'm so glad this one season exists.

A little Nazgul animation made for #tolktober. Rotoscope animation, printed on paper. Soundtracked with my micro cassette recorder.

I keep coming back to this one, it's got a melancholy vibe all its own. Shame both the animator and musician passed away before it became popular.

Luz ('18) has a wonderful storytelling style of diegetic retelling of previous events alongside the events of Luz being stalked by an entity from her past. One of the oddest demon possession films I've seen. Recommend to watch multiple times for picking up the full effect of this spooky bottle film.

Hey everyone, for my next One-and-Done Horrors, I’m celebrating NIGHT OF THE COMET, one of the best teen-centric horror movies of the ‘80s or ever. I adore Catherine Mary Stewart & Kelli Maroney in this so much. from-the-desk-of-the-horror-chick.ghost.io/one-and-done... Open to free & paid subs!

What we call AI isn't intelligent and it doesn't have opinions. It doesn't guess answers, it is a complicated autocomplete. It does not work.

Hagazussa (2017) masterfully portrays witchy folk horror with purposeful cinematography, limited dialogue and an atmosphere of continually mounting dread. Beautiful and a reference for environmental story telling. If you are up for a slow film, check it out.

Sam Neill on tackling depression and imposter syndrome when you’re between jobs.

RIP Bonnie Tyler. And RIP Tandi Iman Dupree. This remains the best stage entrance by a drag queen of all time, even some 25 years later, and the best use of Tyler’s “Holding Out for a Hero” ever. youtu.be/IHQA5vqn6rw?...

Man Finds Tape ('25) is pretty damned good. Great to finally see it as a found footage mockumentary tends to feel very overproduced and kills the suspension of disbelief with out of place VFX. Neither of those issues were present. Fun cosmic horror, didn't hold the viewer's hand and had fun with it.

Snatch back your brain zombie. Snatch it back and hold it!

so, this is deeply, deeply horrifying thedreydossier.substack.com/p/i-found-a-...

Kojima as a paragon of storytelling was always laughable to me. "His" worlds are always complicated but absurd, shallow and disjointed. Not much of a leap to be in line with inhuman approximations of art already made by others...

All this time I've been ignoring WXIII Patlabor The Movie 3, and for no good reason. Put an end to it. Turns out - it's amazing! I couldn't ask for more, tho I understand those who expected something else. Still it's reputation is unfair. Very jealous of those who will go watch EZY today!

Here at the Trylon we've decided that 2K digital projection is no longer enough for us. We're launching a campaign to raise funds for the installation of a 4K LASER projector this summer. If you'd like to lend a hand... trylon.org/4K

Some costume studies for Foster in their work uniform as a mortal and eventually how they settle in as Nosferatu. #OCsky #VtM #Nosferatu #wip #digitalpainting

We started our VtM chronicle earlier in Foster's unlife than I expected, so now I've got this golden opportunity to make a series of portraits of how Foster transforms into Nosferatu... #VtM #OCsky #digitalart #sketch #wip
