Is 3-days worth of food and water enough of an emergency store? The cyber security incident affecting the largest Dutch supermarket Albert Heijn (flagship store of the world's 12th largest food retailer) just knocked out online services for 12 days.

Oh boy, are the Right excited by this graph recently published by The Economist! And of course none of them has bothered to read the article itself (TBF, it is behind a paywall!). So as always, let's add a little context and explain why these kinds of comparisons are so problematic 🧡1/25

🧡 Wow - this article is bordering on unhinged! Apparently the BBC is akin to a β€œNorth Korean re-education camp” for teaching children about net-zero and covering both the pros AND cons of immigration Join me for a masterclass in cherry-picking and context stripping to brainwash your own readersπŸ‘πŸ»

Which is why i argue it is better, but when 50% of the population believes that we should expel more muslims than we let in, there's a genuine problem with our xenophobia. A problem with polite rracism is that it allows a lot to pretend they aren't racist, which worsens the problem.

Workers constantly dig up and relay brick sidewalks and streets in the Netherlands. Water pipe break? Laying fiberoptic cables? The same team opens and closes the and does the work. This team is smoothing out a street that got uneven after 20 years. "It's normal maintenance, just sand below."

Can anyone recommend a nice but reasonably cheap hotel in an nice part of central Paris? Not too far from the sights and/or accessible by metro but with nice cafes and shops nearby too? Merci!

It's crazy how often you hear about "bikes on the sidewalk" when this is the actual reality in NYC

In pure injury collision terms, they are not an issue. However, there is the issue of some folks feeling subjectively unsafe crossing them (for a variety of valid reasons). From a campaigning position however, there's the underlying but so far unarticulated issue of how inaccessible UK streets

"I'm expected to answer to views I find utterly disgusting?" Reform's Laila Cunningham feels let down by the councillors highlighted in ITV's undercover report.

The lad and I went on a 25 minute ride through Amsterdamse Bos today, leading to this beautiful scene. Volume up for the birds, interrupted only briefly (thankfully) by his comments on how much cow poop he has on his tyres.

This is a radicalising case in reaction to dangerous drivers. It's that bad. Once you read this, you'll not want to stop until every dangerous driver and those who aid and abet them are behind bars for a very long time and banned for life. TW: remorseless brutality www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
