The gender gap among young voters in Berlin’s state election: 51% of women under 25 voted for the Left Party, according to exit polls.

Contrary to expectations, women feel similarly threatened by feminism as men, which is driven by women’s generally higher predisposition to feel threatened. Further, men’s and women’s perceptions of feminism as threatening are associated with different political profiles

So who "won" the Swedish election? Narratives after parliamentary elections are hard. The center right gained support but will lose power, and the Social Democrats lost support but will gain power. The radical right Sweden Democrats are the clear loser, losing support and power.

My latest piece for The Guardian: In Sweden, previously unthinkable far-right ideas are now comfortably embedded in the mainstream. The past four years were characterised by an astonishing acceptance of ethnonationalist views, xenophobic rhetoric and authoritarian policies often targeting children.

What do yesterday’s ST results imply for liberal democracy? In our ongoing nationwide survey, we asked about support for liberal democracy (following doi.org/10.1177/0010...). Acceptance of & ambivalence toward illiberal action are worryingly widespread, though majorities reject each transgression.

My first PhD paper is out! 🎉 We analysed longitudinal data panel to assess how flood and climate risk perceptions, as well as perceptions of the importance of protection from climate change changed in Germany between 2020 and 2022 and how this linked to flood experience and political orientation.
