I am going to go out on a limb and say that if Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer are speaker and majority leader, no matter how large their majorities are, no progress will be made. They will do nothing.

I think the way you use it matters. I'm pretty clearly an example of someone who has to use a lot, but I also do hard, thankless shit constantly. Of course when I'm using it, with very few exceptions, I'm mostly researching how it fails.

Basically AI allows software engineers to produce shitty code *faster* and in higher volumes which increases the amount time spent on code reviews and revisions nullifying the productivity gained from producing the code in the first place.

Just helping with editing here. These bots aren’t sentient. They’re doing what they’re programmed to do. OpenAI, a private company supposedly bound by laws, committed federal crimes.

When I first introduced my bill to ban stock trading in Congress 5 years ago, only a handful joined us. Since then, we’ve built a movement of bipartisan reformers committed to ending the corruption once and for all. The time is now Speaker Johnson. Put the bill on the floor.

Referring to the harm as being caused by LLMs, when it is caused by people, actually serves to exonerate the people as if they did not make explicit decisions.

25 years ago today, George W. Bush signed the 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force into law. Barbara Lee was the only member of Congress to vote against it, warning it would be a blank check for forever wars. History has proven her lonely and courageous vote right.

One of the biggest legacies of 9/11 was the rapid growth of mass surveillance. Whether it's the PATRIOT Act, Palantir, or Flock cameras, Americans don't want more erosions of our civil liberties in the name of "security."

We never imagined how far that dream would travel, into homes, into hearts, into the way generations imagined what we could still become. In a world that often feels as divided as ever, maybe that's exactly why we need it now: a reminder that unity was always the point.
