3 hours ago the Brazilian Supreme Court rejected any challenge to the election results. Just now Flavio Bolsonaro has dropped his objections. Lula is President it cannot be stopped, and Flavio Bolsonaro will be going on trial for corruption. And then to jail.

I do not think it should be controversial to say that the world’s more notable far right politicians - Trump, Putin, Bolsonaro, Le Pen, Farage, take your pick - are actively evil people with evil projects, pursued by evil means. Of course they are, they openly revel in it.

Libs think they are real people who have emotions and can feel pain and the rest of us aren't and don't. It's why they'll smugly state that people suffering and dying are a rounding error to be ignored but then screech when people are mean to them in response. They count, you don't.

You know what else can liberate the country from those problems? Long term thinking and competent governance. But those require hard work so the lazy neolibs are going to do shock therapy instead. Roll those dice and hope, because it'll be the 2029 election before anyone realises it didn't work.

They'll starve you when they deem you gluttonous, and they will force feed you when they deem you frail, and they will never, ever, for any reason, entertain asking what you think. Your judgment, after all, doesn't matter, because you don't matter. You are just an incompetent.

The Government has until the end of the year to scrap the NHS-Palantir deal. Do you want Palantir out of the NHS? RT if you do. Lets get them out.

Yes, wouldn't want young people falling prey to unscrupulous influencers. Now watch as we outsource this whole idea to tech billionaires, journalists who've written about it but never done it, and startups that mysteriously appeared a week ago.

That's great. What about the women that would be uncomfortable sharing a restroom with a trans woman? Because that's still most of the -extremely progressive- women I know. (I don't know any MAGA women)

Something tells me that, when AIs 'went rogue' and this caused everyone to suddenly focus on AI and it's 'dangers' in a new way and stoke the egos of the billionaire psychopaths in charge of them, this probably only encouraged them to let these breakouts and hackings happen more, not less.

Pouring one out for Bioware this morning, and thinking of their rise and fall across such a long period. It's oddly close to home, for someone who never worked there, and only in an adjoining industry. But I did get to see behind the curtain once, and it stuck with me.

When people say "those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it", they usually mean the socioeconomic factors leading up to to World War 1 and such. But Labour seem content to repeat the last 20 years of UK politics over and over with absolutely no attention paid to the consequences.

Chancellor to pitch budget at wealth creators – UK politics live

theguardian.comChancellor to pitch budget at wealth creators – UK politics liveJohn Healey is expected to cut red tape requirements, particularly for smaller businesses Good morning. A week today John Healey, the chancellor, will be doing a media round defending the budget he is presenting on Wednesday next week. Ahead of that, he has given an interview to Patrick Maguire from the Times. As you would expect, there is no real detail in it about the measures he will be presenting to MPs. But the big picture message is very clear – and quite surprising, coming from a chancellor serving a PM who in some respects is steering left compared to his predecessor. Healey says that he wants to be on the side of bloody-minded entrepreneurs who make a profit, he acknowledges that government has made their life harder over the past two years, and he suggests that cutting the ‘cost of living’ for business is just as important as cutting the real cost of living for families. In the quote that gives the Times its splash headline, Healey says: I want to be a chancellor who backs business in Britain making a profit, and those entrepreneurs who, in the end, are the ones who challenge the status quo, come up with innovative ideas and are trying, some of them through sheer bloody-mindedness, to keep going through these sorts of pressures … If you’re not making a profit, you’ve got nothing to put back into the business. And for the people who start up these businesses, the ones who really thrive and grow, they have to make a profit — and they will be much more inclined to put it back into their own business. But we want it to grow here and stay here. If you talk to any of the businesses that have come in and have either had one-to-ones or round tables with me, I have recognised that in recent times there’s been a lot of pressure: employment law, regulation, tax, input costs, supply chains. And so when I talk about the cost of business, and recognising that in the same way as we’re recognising the cost of living pressures, I’m conscious of that as I go into the budget for both businesses and households. [Healey] is expected to use the budget to make significant cuts to regulation on businesses that one senior Treasury source described as “the sludge choking firms”. Reporting requirements are likely to be abolished for many smaller enterprises, The Times understands. Continue reading...

"Give Burnham a chance," they tell me, "He's only be in post for a couple of months, he hasn't even begun to repeat the PFI scandal, he's only started on repeating ruinous austerity, and Israel hasn't broken it's latest ceasefire enough to openly support more killings again."

This is what Burnham was too dishonest to announce before the Holborn & St Pancras byelection. The centrist drones in mainstream media saying the Green Party should focus on “Green issues” - as if they are separate from everything else - are now going to criticise us for focusing on Green Issues.

There's obviously a serious point here, but it's quite funny optics for the Conservative party to complain that it used to be so much quicker to build a stately home.
