I feel like I have so much I want to say but it’s just this incoherent ramble. But do you know how much it weighs on me to be the one woman on staff at GameSpot? To be one of VERY few women in the industry? To be one of ever fewer moms? To walk into press events and be the *sole* woman?

I'm incredibly nauseous reading this. Believe women, even when it's about a friend.

Wild that it took multiple women in the industry, and beyond, sharing a ResetEra thread to get this in front of people's eyes. That should never be the case. Absolutely abhorrent at all levels.

After 9 years at IGN this is the last video I edited: m.youtube.com/watch?v=nStf... 3 people, including me, who worked on this video were laid off, with out notice, just a couple hours after publishing it. It was an honor to work with them and so many others at IGN impacted by these layoffs.

Hey! So after seventeen and a half years, October 2nd will be my last day at IGN. It was genuinely a dream come true to do this thing for so long alongside some of the most talented people on earth. I got to travel the world, meet my heroes, and make a ton of really fun shows and videos. An honor ♥️

I reviewed Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, and I’m happy to say it’s quite an amazing and ambitious tactical experience. Over a hundred hours spent and I still have so much more to see in its wonderfully diverse story paths.

Well friends, that's it for me. This week IGN let me go, effective immediately. It's been a pleasure talking about movies and TV and to anybody that's read/watched/laughed at any of my work on IGN and CineFix over the years, here's a heartfelt thank you to contrast the grimace in this picture.

Welp. Starting in November, I will no longer be employed by IGN. It's been a hell of a ride and I cannot understate how much of an honor and a privilege the last 11+ years have been. This was a dream job, but the best part of IGN is, was, and always will be the people.

In addition to what I already posted about Brian, I just want to add here that he was a fucking joy to work with in the office. sat behind me with Max once a week and was just so kind and funny and generous. gave good advice. made me feel less crazy when bad stuff happened. just a good, good dude.

For any mutuals wanting to talk about what post-games career can look like, I've been doing various 1:1 calls with friends and former colleagues about my post-games journalism career this past year, and happy to do so with anyone wanting to talk about that process and ask any questions.

Instead of celebrating that success, I'm mourning the loss of my and many of my talented colleagues' jobs. Please hire them. Please hire me. And please still read and watch our work. Our Steam Frame review is sharp and smartly critical of an extremely interesting piece of technology.
