One of the many incredible things Pedro shared was how Meta's AI bot within WhatsApp refused users' asks to make a poster for Lula but granted it for Flavio and when asked to make mock poster for, say, a dog they added Flavio's electoral number - as in vote for #22. In Brazil, vote is by #.

I have blamed The agents That hacked Your website And which You probably Reasonably thought I controlled Forgive me I am rich And unaccustomed To taking responsibility

And received the MRC message for robot club. When I reached the MRC office, the bullied esports player was outside her office and it went straight to that. I think teamwork may have just hit 3, other stats are woeful.

im not inclined to take anything these people say at face value but: it's clear it is a highly autonomous automated product that is not well understood, no one is being exceptionally careful with it, and the danger is being weighed against "also i want one trillion dollars" and the latter wins

It is 2028, every body of water in and around the Continental United States has been renamed. Now every America River feeds directly into a Lake America or America Ocean. No-one knows where they are.

Appropriately enough, as American school children are no longer able to rely on the acronym "H-O-M-E-S" to remember the names of the Great Lakes, they will have to find a new one to incorporate Lake America. S-H-A-M-E comes to mind.

lol Scot Moronson is in the AFR with headline ‘Trump’s Middle East ceasefire [citation needed surely?] won’t bring down long term interest rates’ I move that the member be no longer heard. Not clicking it. The AFR’s regime change campaign continues but srsly surely they can do better than Scot.

Genuinely fascinating example of how bizarre public discourse has become that "should we be allied with a genocidal government that's objectively opposed to all of our own interests" and "should we support growth by building more server rooms" have ended up seen as broadly comparable positions

It really is quite funny how the people who insisted for years that leftists needed to be pragmatic and meet voters where they are have planted their flag in support of Israel and data centers, two of the most unpopular stances in the country

I don't get what "Vote Blue No Matter Who" has to do with primaries. Voting for any candidate in a Dem primary IS voting blue. The saying does, or at least should, mean always vote for the Dem over any Republican in the general, even if your preferred candidate didn't advance that far.

This gallery has had a decade of watching Trump and 30 yrs of Hanson and they walked in the press club like it was first day on the job.

I'm working on a column about the tech annoyances that drive us crazy, and I want it to be as universal as possible, so tell me yours! E.g. scanning a QR code to read a menu, never receiving the one-time passcode they supposedly texted you, "verify you're human" by IDing tiny motorcycles, etc.

Effing heretics, all of them. Idol worshippers, all of them. What's nice is that you could raise Luther, Calvin, Augustine, Aquinas, the assorted Fathers and Doctors of the Eastern and Western churches, a gamut of popes from all stripes, and they'd concur that these are heretics of the worst kind

For a practical example, imagine you make a claim on your insurance for an injury. The insurer gets your GP's clinical notes to investigate the claim and find a reference to a pre-existing condition you don't have, you never mentioned but the LLM transcribed and just sat there on your file for years

RanTLaw@rantlaw.bsky.social

A good piece from @joshtaylor.bsky.social that highlights the issues with AI scribes. As someone who regularly looks at GP’s clinical notes for work, the one thing I will say is that the doctors’ comments about the non-assisted notes is the ideal. Reality often falls quite short of that.
