🚨 NEWS: A federal judge has ruled that the Trump DOJ ILLEGALLY fired prosecutor Maurene Comey, ordering retroactive reinstatement and backpay. The judge ripped the DOJ’s defense as bordering on “frivolous” and rejected its sweeping claims of executive power.

Here is the TLDR of the 9th Circuit hearing: DOJ will lose. It will be either 2-1 or 3-0. It will be on jurisdiction and perhaps on the merits. The argument was a debacle for Trump and the DOJ lawyer who argued it. Watch for details. www.youtube.com/live/EsuYPbm...

This article is a takedown of housing costs for students near UCs: "landlords are effectively in charge" But there's a surprising thing happening that is making rent go down: GENERAL STRIKE AND ABOLISHING CAPITALISM lol no it's building more housing
A high profile symptom of how baby boomers like to pull up the ladders and how messed up the tax system is in California. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/25/b...

More than 200 complaints regarding sexual violence at schools have been filed with the Education Department since the start of Trump’s second term. The department has investigated only 29 of these, finding fault with a school district only once.

The great Oleksandra Matviichuk is absolutely right to draw attention to the horrible humanitarian crisis in Oleshky. All Putin, Witkoff, and Kushner can do is invert and traduce the meaning of “humanitarianism,” in the best traditions of Russian propaganda.
I have read dozens of outraged posts because the US special envoy Witkoff called Putin a "humanist." But no one is writing about the fact that the American negotiators are simply not doing their job. Let me explain.

Every eligible voter deserves to have their ballot counted. Election security requires reliable evidence and lawful procedures. Threatening election workers does not make an inaccurate list accurate. Please stay engaged, track your ballot, and don’t let intimidation stop you from voting!

These are allegations, not 20,000 confirmed cases of illegal voting. California officials have already identified serious problems with the federal list. A preliminary Los Angeles County review found canceled registrations, people with no voting history, and records identifying people as U.S.-born.

On Friday, the Justice Department sent letters to 57 CA counties, following an earlier demand to Los Angeles County. Officials were given 48 hours to commit to working with federal agencies to review lists of suspected noncitizens. DOJ wants ballots set aside until citizenship can be verified.

this is total gobbledygook? the process to decide who should be certified as the winner is the election, and there is no federal law that says the courts get to decide who that is.
Blanche on CBS says his suit against Alaska is "asking the court to step in where the Alaska Supreme Court didn't, which is to look at federal law and if necessary to allow a process for Alaska to decide who should be certified as the winner." (So, the voters won't get to decide. Got it.)

Trump wants a “little” war with Iran. But Iran gets a vote, too. With oil at $117, missile defenses depleted, and Iran threatening massive retaliation, Brett Erickson explains why this could spiral out of control.

Welcome to a country where insider financing and a century of anti-urban development fear mongering has led to artificial scarcity.
Land prices where people want to live is the primary driver of housing costs. You can buy a ton of cheap land in, I don’t know, North Dakota but it won’t matter how many houses you build there
