El-Sayed on Trump's cognitive tests: "I went to medical school...In my neurology unit, I would have to give that MoCA exam...The only people that you give a MoCA test to are people who you worry may have cognitive deficits. By definition, if you're taking one of those tests, something's wrong."

"Here I am, looking back wistfully on a time when political ads had at least the appearance of higher standards. When you could exploit the racial anxieties of an entire nation and still be welcomed in society, provided you remembered to couch it as a debate about public safety." buff.ly/bEdtrJN

Trump is BIG MAD about Obama saying the White House now looks like Saddam opened a Cheesecake Factory: "He's not a smart guy. He's not smart at all ... for you to say it's a Cheesecake Factory, that just shows why you were a lousy president"

St.X is a big deal in Cincinnati, especially with white conservative voters. The petition is being covered by the local news.

The US is not about to have a free and fair election. The state has put its thumb on the scale to favor the ruling party in multiple ways. It's a mostly free, somewhat unfair election. But still one where the ruling party can be overwhelmed by numbers. Hence the term "competitive authoritarianism."

Asawin Suebsaeng@swin24.bsky.social

It is atrocious we have to operate under this constant credible and explicit threat from one political party, the fact we keep calling it a “free and fair election” needs some light revising

As a Cheesecake Factory appreciator, the RWNJs claiming Obama’s (correct) burn will offend voters are dead wrong. If it were as popular as they imagine, it would have more locations.

No fatalism please. A victory agaibst the odds over an authoritarian.

The long-serving strongman leader of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, has conceded defeat in an election that pitted him and his right-wing party against a diverse student-led opposition movement that spent two years protesting his government.

I am gonna start trying to make "Cheesecake Factory conservative" akin to what "limousine liberal" was when I was growing up. Just going to the mat for a restaurant that only exists in wealthy suburbs wealthy suburbs of major metros. Red America, your political heroes can't even imagine you exist!

It’ll actually be wild if he wins because the Ohio gop will be stuck with him and if you talk to a bunch of influential Ohio republicans that’s…. Maybe a severe punishment to them in its own right

NEW on @zeteo.com — Venues are *pulling out* of hosting Vivek Ramaswamy for his bus tour across Ohio in the closing days of the election. “We’re getting calls that people don’t want him there,” a top Ohio Republican says. “It’s that damn ad.” From @andrewperez.bsky.social and @swin24.bsky.social:

It truly is amazing the things one can accomplish when the Cincinnati Bengals are playing. There are no lines anywhere. I call it the Bengal Blessing.

UPDATE: The DOJ’s demand to set aside ballots in California is impossible to carry out and has no basis in federal law, L.A. County told a federal court last night. Voting is already underway, the county said, and once a ballot leaves its envelope, it can’t be traced back to a voter.

First and foremost Samuel Sey does not deserve this treatment and it is abhorrent. Secondly, the ones cheering this on are probably the ones who turned him and their racism is on full display and despicable. Finally this should be a wake up call- It. Does. Not. Matter. How. Much. Water. You. Carry.

Roys Report@roysreport.bsky.social

Samuel Sey wrote for The Daily Wire, World, TPUSA and Founders Ministries, arguing deportation is a Christian duty. He's now in an Ohio jail on an ICE hold, uncharged. Some allies call it a paperwork error. Others are cheering. "This is what I voted for," one wrote. roysreport.com/christian-co...

The deeper reason Trump, Vance, and Ramaswamy are backing the vile rape ad is they think MAGA politics—the cruelty, the depravity, the viciousness—is still ascendant. They think doing this esesentially puts Trump on the ballot. Me and @jimswift.bsky.social on this: newrepublic.com/article/2169...

Trump and JD Vance decided backing the vile Ramaswamy ad would galvanize MAGA voters, but it instantly backfired as many GOP officials condemned the spot. Now it could help cost them both races in Ohio. Oops! On the pod, @jimswift.bsky.social explains this so well: newrepublic.com/article/2169...
