My go-to example of this is Naughty Dog. Uncharted 1-3 and TLOU for PS3 between 2007 and 2013. Uncharted 4, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, and TLOU2 for PS4 between 2016 and 2020. Zero new games this entire console generation, with Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet likely a year away at minimum.

Mass Effect 1-3 coming out in the span of five years is so crazy. Is there a clearer example of how fucked development cycles have gotten than looking at BioWare’s output in the aughts?

What can you say? This was the definite winner they will never top. Also one of the best things I've seen at any PRGE #PRGE #PRGE2026

You don't get points for cancelling the livestream of someone's execution via firing squad because it means that, at some point, you thought it was a good idea to livestream someone's execution via firing squad.

Breaking news: Fort Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan will not be executed on a live-stream, President Trump said. “Many very good and well meaning people would rather not watch him die,” Trump said.

I had Panzer Dragon Orta in Vanquish's spot until I remembered that Crimson Dragon exists (I'm including spiritual successors).

I'm gonna draft off this to ask: What's the best video game to never get a sequel (too recent for a sequel doesn't count -- remakes/spin-offs are borderline) Surprisingly hard, since even a lot of bad games get sequels, but I'll start with a few personal faves:

Jacob Geller is no longer a part of MinnMax. He won't be on content moving forward and we won't be publicly airing this week's episode of The MinnMax Show. We're in shock and deeply hurt. Thank you for your patience during this sensitive time.

Yes every woman has been harassed, many assaulted. But every woman has also experienced invisible loss from moments she avoided harassment. She felt a space becoming unsafe, so she left, while men stayed on. And in leaving, she lost: opportunities, experiences, learning, promotions, even simply fun.

I don't know why I spent three hours on this, but I love a trend. Sue me. My organizing principle was: Identify the games that would change me as a person the most if I never played them. These aren't my favorite games of all time, though there is some overlap.

Fire Emblem support progression C: "Let me describe exactly how and why I would kill you if given the chance." B: "Now that I understand what makes you tick, I guess there's more to you, after all." A: "Put as many babies in me as you possibly can."

Hi, Mr. 64. I think it would be a dereliction of your journalistic duty if you didn't, uh, tell us how many people buy this thing via your affiliate links. Also their names and addresses. For national security.

Yes its fundamentally stupid for IGN to layoff senior staff before the biggest video game in our lifetimes drop. It's not stupid tho if you're an exec who thinks they can fill that gap with the legion of hungry freelancers with no where to go
