No one says the media shouldn't hold the SNP & ScotGov to account, but when only 1 newspaper out of 38 dailies & weeklies in Scotland supports indy, which has majority support in most polls, & pro-indy parties have won majorities in Holyrood since 2011, there's a huge problem of media imbalance.

We hear plenty about young people struggling to find work. But what about the over-50s? Nearly 3 million people below pension age are out of work, education or training – and many want to work. Why are they getting so little attention? @eastangliabylines.co.uk

Serbia finally got rid of Vučić, just like Hungary got rid of Orbán a few months ago. It's always encouraging to see, especially as both were supported by both the Kremlin and the White House, and still lost pathetically

I'm utterly shocked at Reform being abusive and misogynistic- I mean it was bloody obvious

Now independent MSP Amanda Bland has spoken for the first time on why she left the Reform UK party in Holyrood: because of what she calls "abusive, misogynistic behaviour" by Reform leaders, who are named in this piece.

London does it, Manchester does it, Liverpool does it. Wales and the West Midlands are about to do it. So why is it only in Scotland that the media loses its mind over plans to bring buses into public control? Answer: because it’s an SNP policy and the Scottish media has lost all sense of balance

heraldscotland.comHysteria over John Swinney’s bus plans has exposed something rotten about ScotlandThe nonsense spouted over the SNP's bus policy provides a glimpse into how badly politicians communicate as well as the failings of the Scottish media, our Writer at Large Neil Mackay argues

Photographer Marie Bell found that Taiwan blue magpies had developed an unusual nest-building behaviour using coat hangers. These magpies are found only in Taiwan and traditionally inhabit mountains. They are now moving into cities, and are showing their resourcefulness as they adapt to urban life.

My view at the time was a lot less “ah, sunshine is the best disinfectant” and a lot more “what the fuck are you dangerously feckless idiots playing at”, and it turns out the answer was “almost two decades of the mainstream appropriating this man’s politics and rhetoric, for their own ends”.

Claims that N sea gas is “much cleaner” than importing LNG are misleading: if you add in the impact of burning the gas, as @carbonbrief.org shows, the difference is marginal. But extracting more from N Sea adds more to total amount of fossil fuels burned globally. It’s reckless & unnecessary 🧵2/4
