I’m very drunk. And I can’t stop crying. Today I attended a party for someone I love very much who has been given a terminal diagnosis and has only months to live. I’m devastated. They are so loved. I love them. Hug the people you love. Good people die too soon and it’s not fair. I’m so sad

On Sunday, parents across the five boroughs got a night to themselves while NY's Cutest enjoyed free activities with NYC Parks staff at select recreation centers. Free & accessible child care doesn’t just make our city more affordable — it gives parents time to rest, recharge, or enjoy a night out.

This past weekend, New York City launched its first Parents’ Night Out, a new initiative by Mayor Zohran Mamdani to give families four hours of free babysitting. It was a hit.

Reminds me of that great tweet which went something like “Americans check themselves into rehab for what the average Brit drinks on a two-hour train journey.”

3AW's Tom Elliott just said 'The problem with everyone in the arts is they can't think for themselves. They're all part of a groupthink that says you must be pro-LQBTQ'. 3AW, leading the fight against those who refuse to embrace homophobia!

A letter from the SMH: Dave Hughes exemplifies the old saying “if you don’t vote Labor when you’re young, you don’t have a heart. If you don’t vote Liberal when you’re old, you don’t have over $10 million including a multi-property taxpayer-funded investment portfolio”. Derek Elmes, Faulconbridge

Hugh Laurie is a transphobe. Didn't see that coming but probably should have. Super disappointing.

"Bluesky is dying" bro you're talking about a website full of 38 year olds who have fringe political beliefs and listen to black metal bands with >1000 listeners on spotify, nobody here cares about popularity

The entirety of right wing rage is about things that haven’t happened, imagining scenarios that won’t happen and, then doing it yourself to prove that some arsehole might do it. And then finding out the thing they think could happen can’t. (But not admitting that)

Oh look, it's the exact same people and the exact same media outlets that are targeting trans people, ADHD/autism, immigrants and now disability. Really really isn't subtle is it.

Britain’s tiny gaggle of hooting mad elite cranks, who all know each other and relentlessly repeat each other’s idiotic bullshit, are of course not “victims of social contagion”.

before the bans, the requirements for trans women to participate in women's sports leagues was typically about 2 years being on estrogen and anti-androgens. if this transphobic dipshit is committed to the bit, let her do it, she'll become dysphoric after a few months & face transphobia within a year

I hate ai nature pics so much. Real nature is awesome. This stuff diminishes the magic of of real images captured

For the love of the future please stop posting AI photos of flora & fauna. It is literally destroying the habitats of real birds, animals and plants. Please follow and re-post some real wildlife photographers.

Ai is destroying the delight of real life. Of art, human creation and creativity. Of effort. Of learning, practicing and mastering. Of observing and discovering. And of us sharing those things

Two more women dead in the space of 24 hours due to male violence. A 23 year old pregnant woman murdered and the perpetrator then took their own life. The second woman was 25 years old and the man has been charged with manslaughter by the police. 44 women dead and it’s only the start of August.

Attending cops shocked that a “good bloke” could be a rapist/DV/violent against a woman was just the first mountain the victim had to climb to get a conviction. All strength to her.

Pauline Hanson flees her own custom-curated presser. With ABC & Guardian banned, & far-right criminal Avi Yemini running interference, still can’t handle questions, even from Sky “Shouldn't all media have access...?"💥 Not even sidekick Avi could save her from total humiliation.

People uploading these videos to the internet without blurring faces is another issue that is overdue for regulation. Legit productions need signed release forms, but every rando with a camera can publish identifying videos of you and your children no problem

There is zero reason for the Govt not to ban pervert glasses except for cases where they have been prescribed for medical reasons (ie assistance for those with vision impairment).

It seems to me breathtakingly audacious to complain about being “cancelled” for being outed as a member of a group dedicated to targeting people in the press and mass-emailing their employers and funders in an attempt to destroy them and their livelihood. The DARVO happened almost instantaneously

Good-faith concern on this issue would be going, "hmm, professional sports leagues should probably have some standards in place to ensure trans competitors aren't getting an unfair advantage," googling for 5 minutes, realizing every sports league already has those standards and dropping it.

Rodger Sherman@rodger.bsky.social

i don't believe anyone has "good-faith" concerns about trans women in sports in 2026. there's been too much time to hear the actual evidence, the actual people affected, and the role the debate plays in attempts to purge trans people from American life. anybody picking that side has made a choice

I actually sense the long and silly reframing of 'elites' as anyone with a social conscience has been largely successful and there is little evident hypocrisy in portraying yourself as pro-battler while hobnobbing with the country's richest provided they too are sufficently racist/evil.
