R.I.P. Ryu Murakami... I've been a fan for decades, discovering "Audition" and "Almost Transparent Blue" back in college, and finally getting around to finishing "From the Fatherland With Love" this year. Coin Locker Babies is also a masterpiece, but my personal fave is "In the Miso Soup"
Look, here's the thing.
With layoffs, shutdowns, and GTA coming out in a month:
If a game looks cool to you and you have the disposable income: buy it.
Don't just cheer on indie games from the sidelines. Don't wait for a sale, or until you have time. Support art that excites you, tangibly.
making games so you can hopefully afford to make more games is literally a different industry from grinding up people so number goes up and it is harmful to pretend otherwise regardless of whether or not we share a platform or a binary format
I've only just learned that the Cheesecake Factory shops which used to be around in Japan, were never related to The Cheesecake Factory restaurant chain in America. The Japanese firm started as a single shop in Futakotamagawa in 1952.
Gregory on The Americans deserved a better ending.
That was the black dude dying first in the horror movie of that series.
"I just dont want to go to Moscow.....because...."
They couldn't even come up with a motivation.
I think about this at least once a month.
We found that as of right now 73% of your campaign donation goes back to the consultants and vendors (!!!), four times more than just 20 years ago. Only 13% to ads. Even I was shocked.
Playing Metaphor and the Persona team still hasn’t learned that they don’t need to talk directly to the play so effing much.
The story exposition scenes are already long, but the section when the ally characters overexplain how the player needs to play the next section are annoying.
Also in a game where decisions and dialogue choices customize your playthrough so much, whenever they have a scene with dialogue choices that don’t include options I the player would want, or even ones that all lead to the same result and thus aren’t necessary, it just *feels* bad.
Marvel's Wolverine led US game sales in September, achieving the highest monthly dollar sales for a Sony-published title since Helldivers 2

You know a food is a hit in Japan when convenience stores try to copy it. Lawson’s new Mochido attempts to clone Mister Donut’s famous mochi donut. The end result tastes okay, but being plastic wrapped denies it the freshness of the original.
It’s almost Halloween 🎃

🏝️ The world’s coziest tower defense game
❤️🔥 PixelJunk Monsters 3 is available to try for FREE during Steam Next Fest!
Yeah I mean holding the event precisely one week before the actual holiday even when the 31st itself will fall on a Saturday is definitely “Japanese Style Halloween.”
I feel obliged to once again reiterate that lay offs and closures are not a reaction to the economy, but a failure of leadership. Each wave of closures and layoffs should be looked upon as a consequence of greed and incompetence. If you can't keep your people employed, you are bad at your job.
The shitstorm surrounding that issue will potentially be of astronomical proportions.
If you have a PHP based website, I invite you to double check that you (or your host provider) plan to patch your install _today_. By the way, I confirm that Gandi (as confirmed by the support) will.
it feels great being able to announce something i've been working on. 🌊🏝️

I’m thrilled to announce Final Fantasy Resonance is terrific, and devastated to announce Vaan is one of the most useful visions in the game.
Thanks to GI for letting me review it! ❤️❤️❤️
It may have one foot planted in the series' history, but in a time when mainline Final Fantasy is still figuring itself out, Final Fantasy Resonance is easy to recommend.

Agomago-chan is the mascot of Tomigusuku City in Okinawa. Her head is one of the mangoes that grow locally. Patata, a cheerful and restless otter, is a mascot for Okinawa’s DMM Kariyushi Aquarium.
It's me. My mom got the baseball bug from my grandparents (who told me stories about the 57/58 World Series), so she was already predisposed, but the 80s Brewers just got her hook, line, and sinker.
She was a massive Paul Molitor fan, FWIW.
You know what's fun about #Brewers fan base? There're a LOT of Brewers fans who inherited their fandom from their moms. In the 80s, especially, women and girls across Wisconsin were wild about the Brewers. There was ABSOLUTELY an undercurrent of horniness involved, but they became true ball knowers.
Wow.
And they all come with mini physical media.
Would you look at that.
It's like they know it's core to the history and experience of
@playstation.com as a damn brand.
I haven't really played any games in the last month or so (and rarely feel like playing anything most of the time for the last year), but I tried to play some Metaphor via Remote Play, and my PlayStation Portal seems to have a swollen battery after less than 3 years.
😱
The screen is being pushed up!
So I guess a project for me coming up is going to be just opening up all of the old wireless controllers (DUALSHOCK 3, 4) and handheld consoles, and removing the batteries from them.
Not sure when it'll be necessary to do so for Switch and joy cons, but that's how disposable everything is now.
NEW: Tokyo Imperial Hotel, one of the metropolis' ritziest digs, found itself in hot water after its resident art gallery unveiled an exhibition containing sexual depictions of minors, sparking a renewed debate over artistic freedom vs. protecting kids.
