Not to be confused with Endo.js, the JavaScript platform framework for safe execution of and communication with third-party code. github.com/endojs/endo
ICYMI: Ende is a spiritual successor to Deno, stripped of distractions to simply be a secure runtime for TypeScript applications. Read the docs for more, official homepage is on the way. docs.ende.sh/runtime
YAY (Yet Another YAML) version 1.1.1 is up and adds support for reading, writing, and converting YAY front-matter Markdown documents, including linting and canonicalization, plus bug fixes. kriskowal.com/yay, release notes kriskowal.com/yay/v1.1.1 It’s weirdly serious for a joke.

This is literally the end of the rule of law. If a President can pardon people committing crimes on his behalf - and the Supreme Court says he himself can't be prosecuted for crimes committed as part of his job - then the government becomes a lawless entity able to violate our rights without limit.

(still a wip, but) I started exploring the x86 boot path as an interactive tutorial kumavis.github.io/vibe-dump/co...
You should be fascinated hitting the power button on your computer. Every boot on an x86 machine iterates through the entire sequence of computing evolution in a few milliseconds:
Long ago, I made what I suspect is a novel modification to the Sleator-Tarjan top-down splay tree for incrementally tracking the index of every value in a sorted set. I never got around to writing a paper about it and notably still have not, but enjoyed reading one. https:// kriskowal.com/wwst/

Replying to @danfinlay.com
Randomly provoked thought: The old anecdote: Ford aspired to pay his workers enough to afford the cars they were making. Walmart aspired to pay their workers so little they had to shop there. You might mistake these as both dogfood, but only the former scenario involves voluntary customers.

In which "decal" and "cockamamie" are the same word, both from French "décalcomanie"! "calque" ("to copy, to trace, to calque") is an extremely close relatively. Variously more distantly (all from Latin "calx": "heel"): "recalcitrant", "caltrop", "calzone", "Chaucer"

@nicr.dev is correct, and emphasize *people* with LLMs are a thread to communities and *people* need to adapt their mores to effectively navigate and protect this forever-altered world we share. Do not be an imposition. Consequences will follow. bsky.app/profile/kris...
A few weeks ago I gave a talk saying that "People with LLMs are a threat to communities", and some people found it too extreme. I guess my next edition of that talk will say "People with LLMs are destroying and have destroyed communities". I hope you SWC friends will find a way to recover.
