"But a group of countries, led by Saudi Arabia and Russia and including India and China, is pressing for publication of the report to be pushed back to 2029. "They argue this is necessary in order to allow developing countries to have more input into the scientific findings...." 🙄
IPCC under pressure to delay publication of key global climate report AR7 report was scheduled for 2028 in time for COP33 summit but some petro-states and major developing countries want to postpone it

I am a scientist – and the answer is climate change. Yes, there is nuance. Yes, it could take a long time to identify the precise mechanisms. But there is no question why ice and snow-related disasters are on the rise. Our planet is warming at an unprecedented rate, and humans are responsible.
In Nepal, it will most likely take months for scientists to understand exactly what led to deadly flash floods that killed over 1,000 people and left thousands missing. Early theories posit glacier meltwater and a thawing permafrost could have contributed to bedrock collapse.

And I can't state this enough: Our estimates of high climate sensitivity are based on the best estimates of available observations. There is a high probability (from a risk perspective) that climate sensitivity is even higher than our seemingly 'higher' (than e.g. IPCC's +3°C for 2xCO₂) estimates.
Exactly the same logic applies to climate sensitivity. We need to work on the assumption that Dr James Hansen et al is correct with their higher climate sensitivity models because we won’t know if mainstream climate science is completely wrong about low climate sensitivity until it is too late.

In addition to two areas flagged by NHC today, we need to talk about the big outage for our main hurricane tracking satellite, which went offline late yesterday. We don't have any recovery timelines yet, so for now we're relying on flanking satellites. ⬇️

With all the July model runs now in, it is very likely that 2026 will see the largest El Niño event since records began in the late 1800s – and potentially by a truly mind-blowing margin. The median estimate is now 3.6C, roughly 0.8C hotter than the prior record (2.75C). www.theclimatebrink....

In the simplest possible and patently obvious common sense terms that a 6 year old could understand: geo-engineering, especially the solar reduction stuff, is absolutely crazy.
