Mark Suckserberg at rigging elections is what they should call him, amirite?

Ben Collins@bencollins.bsky.social

Congrats to Lula on overcoming Mark Zuckerberg and Donald Trump to defeat Hospital Pervert Jr., even as his opposition literally blocked off roads and turned off bus service during election day. Fascists are scary but they are always, 100% of the time, ultimately gigantic fucking losers.

Trick or treat biiiiiitches, woohoo!

Lula has been reelected president, Brazilian media has now called. An extraordinary comeback for the left-wing politician who trailed by 2 points in round 1 but managed to hold off Flávio Bolsonaro, the former president's son.

Replying to @ryanlcooper.com

recalling that the actual quote from Max Weber about "slow boring" is 180 degrees away from limp dishrag centrism. he explicitly says you have to be a hero who reaches for the impossible

I feel like on some level Yglesias is just an idiot who thinks he is smarter than everyone, but he also sorta understands that he needs to continually get dunked on online in order to have any kind of relevance.

A helpfully clear exchange here Hasan: "So your argument is that [Minnesota ICE protesters] should stay at home because immigration is a salient issue for Donald Trump. Opposing ICE is only going to help Trump. Wait until we win the election in 2028." Yglesias: "Yes that is what I would have said"

So the same month that Elon Musk throttled Starlink to run his own military policy, he's also seeking more control over your flow of information. Musk and the Ellisons will control CNN and CBS for news; HBO, Warner Bros, Paramount & more for entertainment; Twitter (X) and TikTok for social media.

Pokemon GO to the Polls PAC reposted

there’s no middle ground position on this. either musk is forcibly rooted out of government infrastructure or every war proceeds at the whims and dictates of a generational buffoon

Fucking Clyburn

Incredible reporting on a deeply depressing story of corruption in Congress Anticorruption politics is what brings down authoritarians around the world, but it's hard to do that when you're corrupt too (even if less corrupt) www.propublica.org/article/nava...

Jan is CBS’s legal correspondent. She gave the puff piece interview to Alito on his book. She’s criticized people who criticize the Court too much / in certain ways. She’s a perfect case study in why some mainstream/legacy media press coverage of SCOTUS is broken, bad, and misleading.

Minneapolis police say an officer's gun went off after a stolen car came into contact with a squad car during a response to an armed carjacking.

I think it is as much the marketing and the battery recall as anything else. The earlier Bolts were very popular. I have one and it absolutely slaps.

the problem for Dem consultants is that they haven't properly internalized that tech - not the rank and file, but the guys at the top - has completely turned against them and should now be treated as an implacable political enemy you can't win them back by playing nice on policy and you shouldn't

I think this is correct, and I've been thinking a lot about what replaces all this stuff. If it is going away, you'd think the institutional players would have some idea of what might take its place. But they don't seem to have a vision for that, or any interest in it. It's private equity mindset.

Scott Tobias@scotttobias.bsky.social

Fun part about David Ellison destroying CBS News, 60 Minutes and his late-night show is that he'll never be able to get any of it back. You could argue that latter was heading toward obsolescence anyway, but the Weiss-ification of the news has led to a permanent erosion of trust.
