Svelte + gpui. No we're talking. I might give it a shot for a personal music app to replace Doppler which doesn't seem to be maintained anymore

Just want to emphasize: this is entirely built with CSS scroll snapping and view timelines – no JS gesture handling or animations. This means we get high frame rate fluid momentum and elastic physics matching the platform for free. It feels native because it really is – modern CSS is pretty amazing.

fixing contrast by moving only the lightness, so the brand colour still looks like the brand colour. lovely tool.

Another little tool built on top of @meodai.bsky.social's Cusp Hanger to create palettes for generative systems. One ground colour plus foregrounds grouped by contrast. It generates a smooth ramp per hue and selects colours off that ramp by measured contrast.

I agree. Atomic Design felt really helpful back in the days but now I prefer no category at all.

I'll never dismiss what Atomic Design has done to create an approachable model for design system hierarchies. That said, I find the divisions subjective—which in turn leads to wildly different interpretations.

🚀 Container style queries are baseline; New attr() capabilities are nearly there. Neat apart, but together they change how we can wire up components. Practice will make perfect, and I still need to rewire my brain for this combo. So, time to start that rewire. utilitybend.com/blog/contain...

This is huge for component libraries, written as web components, that have to somewhat recreate native CSS due to environment limitations. 👀

Beyond “originally pitching this” which the article cites as my only involvement, I also put a fair bit of effort into driving this resolution at the recent Berlin F2F, together with @tabatkins.com. I’m *delighted* we convinced the WG to do it. It will be a gamechanger for CSS utility classes! 🎉

Bramus@bram.us

To target multiple classes with the same prefix, you'd typically have to resort to brittle attribute selectors. To make things easier, CSS is getting a new selector: the “Class Prefix Selector” (`.foo-*`). Check brm.us/class-prefix... to get the details. (Browser Support: None 😛 — just resolved!)
