The people who cancelled Jimmy Kimmel after Charlie Kirk's assassination will now control television stations that reach 80% of Americans, twice that what was legally allowed before Trump's takeover. The state capture of network television is almost complete.

The Trump administration has approved the acquisition of 9NEWS' parent company, TEGNA, by Fox31's parent company, Nexstar. Nexstar issued a statement praising President Trump, who says the deal will "help knock out the Fake News." Nexstar has declared itself "the anti-fake news"

I know some disagree but someone like Stephen Fry changing his mind and doing a complete 180 after supporting She Who Must Not Be Named, is a good thing and is evidence that attitudes are changing.

I'm hardly the first person to note this, but it's enormously instructive that our President and his followers saw the message "THE ONLY THING MORE POWERFUL THAN HATE IS LOVE" and understood it, correctly, as an attack on them

What a moment.

This is a perfect example of "I saw a thing that I could do and I started doing it"

ICE has grabbed so many people from their vehicles that there are abandoned cars across Minnesota. This tow truck driver returns the cars for free as a public service, and he’s been getting death threats. They hate the helpers. Which is why must keep helping.

This is 100% perjury. The idea that the Treasury Secretary doesn't know anything about one of the most important figures in crypto facilitating a giant bribe to Trump and then getting pardoned is laughable. He would literally be the only person in the finance world who didn't know about it.

KIM: When Binance founder Zhao pleaded guilty to violating money laundering laws & was sent to prison, Binance injected billions into Trump's business & Zhao was pardoned. Is that a conflict? BESSENT: I'm unfamiliar with any of that KIM: Is it a conflict? BESSENT: Again, I'm not going to respond

Dudes like these YouTube culture warriors really tried to ruin my life and the lives of my friends, and it was because the world's most notorious pedophile cabal orchestrated them to believe it, and almost assuredly almost none of them will ever course correct after any of this. Fuck this world.

Hi I hate it here thanks.

"Release the hounds", I intone. Several discontinued Boston Dynamics BigDog prototypes playing back AI-generated human voices saying the word "bark" come trotting briskly around the corner.

There are people in your community organizing to non-violently resist the ICE terrorists. If you're looking for something to do with the anger and fear you're feeling right now, find the people defending your community's most vulnerable and join their efforts.

This is an excellent analogy, because my recollection from grade school is that the pen on the right looks fun and exciting, and then you play with it for a few minutes and realize it's not actually useful for anything and in fact makes some tasks more cumbersome, and never think about it again.

marykmac.bsky.social@marykmac.bsky.social

yeah, just out of interest, how many people choose the pen on the right for real work or art? See a lot of them in professional workplaces, do you?

I have been actively involved in protest movements for 24 years. I have never seen anything approaching this scale. Minneapolis is not accepting what's happening here. ICE fucking murdered a woman for participating in this, and all that did is bring out more people, from more walks of life.

the best thing about mamdani doing something is realizing "wait mayors can just do that?" the second best thing is seeing people twist themselves into pretzels to pretend any of this is somehow bad

If you book a hotel for $200, you should pay $200. Today, we shut down hotel junk fees and surprise credit card holds. The price you see is the price you pay.

🚨HOLY CRAP. An ICE whistleblower just revealed a secret memo authorizing ICE officers to break into homes without a judicial warrant, which DHS's own legal training materials say is unconstitutional! ICE then hid the memo from the public, passing it along by word of mouth and private conversation.

The scam website that is trying to steal money from artists is back, new logo and... very hastily made website. Be wary of them, block and report and warn other artists.

Andrew 🐻@awd.bsky.social

Artist beware, do not use the website "MyTipMe" Noticed their mascot looked off, they are not NSFW friendly, and they take 15% (tippers pay the fee, but that still feels off to me.) They're partnered with Stripe, and I know fees exist on other platforms I am just very wary about all of this.

just a collection of "inevitable" multi-billion dollar tech that was going to be the future of everything until everyone in the audience who was supposed to just get on board said "lol no"

A quick and dirty way to start sussing this out is to ask yourself, “Is this person really trying to help a group of people or does it look like they’re trying to punish someone right now, in this moment?”

Trung Le Nguyen@trungles.com

Yeah. Sometimes, behind all the bellowing and bluster and fluency in social justice verbiage, you might observe a person’s behavior and realize their vision of justice is just “When is it my turn at the top? When is it my turn to do the violence?”

I try to avoid binary thinking, but... There are only two types of people in the world. "I had to suffer, so should they." Or "I had to suffer, and I will work to help others so they don't have to."

We live in capitalism. Its power seems inescapable. So did the divine right of kings. Any human power can be resisted and changed by human beings. Resistance and change often begin in art, and very often in our art, the art of words.
