My anxiety: *gets so bad sometimes that my body shuts down and I am physically unable to eat for days* My internalized ableism: haha, u know what, im probably actually faking all this mental health stuff, actually.

If I see one more person trying to sane-wash the president of our country posting an AI video of himself dressed up as a king airdropping feces on American citizens exercising their first amendment right, I am going to go certifiably insane. THIS. IS. NOT. NORMAL. OR. OKAY. Stop acting like it is.

Manager at Domino’s: I'm so sorry about the mix-up. Let me comp your order for the inconvenience. I'll start that process right away. Me, a chronic people-pleaser with self-esteem issues: oh no, this is so much worse than my pizza being late.

Dead of night? Power out because of a huge storm? No car to drive yourself anywhere with power? Feel like you're going insane stuck inside the house with no lights and no sounds? Ask your doctor if wandering around town on foot like you're a survivor in an apocalyptic wasteland is right for you!

Me exercising at the physical therapist's clinic: Aw, man 🥹 Haha, dang 🥹 that's a little tender 🥹 Oof, haha, owie. Me exercising at home: [expletive]ing piece of [expletive] OW, you[expletive] absolute [expletive], I will [expletive][expletive] DIRECTLY UP YOUR [expletive] with a CACTUS.

One of the hardest things to come to terms with is the fact that how I was treated *because* of my mental illnesses did just as much damage to me as my actual mental illnesses did. I am spending so much time unlearning internalized ableism so that I can actually heal and move forward.

Hello, my name is Cassandra, and I ate almost an entire watermelon all by myself yesterday. In my defense, society's collapsing, and it *is* summertime.

Originally, this post said "Today was bad. Nature helped." And hearing the news today *was* bad. I cried. I raged. But you know what else happened? I laughed til I cried on the way to the grocery store. I went for a walk and watched the sunset. There is still beauty. I'm going to fight for it.

There are only three political positions in America today 1) I like the fascism 2) I'll acquiesce to the fascism (reasons for this one vary: cowardice, access, denial, misguidedly thinking that acquiescence is savvy, etc) 3) I oppose the fascism The rest is details

I’ve seen more than one post now of people saying the Republicans will pay a political price for this vote in 2026 and I gotta say folks… you’re all way more optimistic than I am. Americans aren’t great with cause and effect. They’ll assume their Medicaid got cut because of Dems somehow

Mr. Antiwar President has us inches away from a Civil War at home and a nuclear war abroad in defense of an ally that is starting random hot regional wars to detract from its ongoing genocide. I’m sure all of this will just naturally cool off.

You can tell the edible is happening when you start crying about the concept of cats and owning a cat and solemnly vowing to love and care for them forever and kissing their soft little foreheads

Me, to my brain: Hey, do you remember why I came in this room? My brain: Sorry, best I can do is this memory from when you were 13 and accidentally called the female cashier at Dairy Queen "dad".

Every time I take a break from the news for my mental health, I come back to discover that not only is there a veritable onslaught of news waiting for me, almost every single bit of it is mind-bogglingly horrific and cruel. How the hell are we supposed to keep going?

Cornbread Mode: when I am so surprised or ooged out by something, it causes my dormant Southern accent to activate. Used in a sentence: "Aw, man, this is suh gross, it's got me goin' full cornbread mode."

I am not stupid or egotistical enough to think the regime cares about me, and I’m aware I’m a citizen (not Protestant white tho so, you know), but just as a mere thought experiment for empathy’s sake my wife and I — who I imagine are in a more comfortable position than Garcia’s family — just asked…

It feels wild to go out and buy spaghetti ingredients after sitting down with your partner and making a plan in case one (or both) of you are illegally detained by authorities. How are things so normal and so monumentally fucked at the same time?

We do not deserve cats. I say this because I'm currently curled up on the couch trying to self-regulate, and the whole time I'm also required to actively wrestle this guy, who is apparently trying to crawl inside my body and fill me with healing purrs because he can tell I feel icky.

Some days go okay. Some days require you to repeatedly submerge your face in a giant bowl of ice-water in order to shock your limbic system into functioning. It's all about balance.

Me, getting ready this morning: My hair is surely dry enough to put in spacebuns by now, probably - I dont think it'll kink or tangle too bad. 13-hours-older me, emerging, panting and gasping, from a time machine: DON'T. Don't DO IT.

I mean, come on. Trump literally signaled to the oligarchs that they should buy this morning. How is it not insider trading?

Good morning. Today is the 80th day that the U.S. President is running a backdoor bribery scheme in which any CEO or foreign oligarch can send him money secretly through his crypto coin scam in exchange for favors. It's the biggest scandal in the history of the Presidency.
