My normal polling place is kitty corner to my house, so I always do that. But for my fellow 716ers that this might be more convenient for:

"Guilfoyle was scrambling to save her job ... when the Journal revealed texts showing she had solicited $100k from a Trump donor, Guilfoyle reached out to the WH to say the texts were AI generated. The officials didn’t believe her claims. Journal reporters verified the authenticity of the texts."

Obviously this is disgusting, but also...considering Trump is an enemy of Ukraine, why would his whining make them stop?

White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia nods along on Fox & Friends as Rachel Campos-Duffy blasts that "ingrate Zelenskyy who keeps blowing up refineries and making things more complicated for the president ahead of the midterms"

I have a ponytail and a fat ass. The amount of sexual harassment I've received from men that think I'm a woman is insane. And I know I'm only getting a fraction of what actual women get.

Kat Abughazaleh@katmabu.bsky.social

I literally don’t know a single woman who hasn’t been raped, stalked, groped, harassed, or sexually violated in some way at some point in their life. If you choose to doubt and dox survivors, just know every woman in your life is disgusted by you.

The US government is now making games where you round up the brown people

Will Stancil@whstancil.bsky.social

This “game” on the White House website, a version of Snake where you play as a white man in a suit and you run around picking up identifiably black, Asian, and Latino men and putting them in orange jumpsuits, might be the most openly white supremacist thing I’ve ever seen the US government produce

Relieved that my rep is not on this list.

Here are the 33 Democrats who voted with Republicans to block federal funding to American colleges if they engage in boycotts against Israel — a foreign country that's committed genocide and killed Americans using American tax dollars:

Everyone involved in this needs to be locked up for life.

We are a broken nation. Hundreds of thousands of Haitians were living and working legally, paying taxes, and contributing. Haiti remains wholly unsafe. But Trump hates Haitians, and the White House wanted videos of Black people in chains, so they stripped them of status and turned on the cameras.

I appreciate that Dolly Parton refused to participate in "dress respectability" and, by her own account, modeled her aesthetic after a town "tramp," who she thought was beautiful. She separated aesthetics from character and understood "classiness" to be about how you treat people, not how you dress.

The replies to this are insufferable. Technology advancing is cool! Whats notable is that it's human shaped while doing this. No shit things with wheels are faster.

Rode past the eco counter on fifth street cycletrack this morning. 1798 bikes counted in under 9hrs. If every one of those people riding bikes was instead in an SUV, the line of cars would be almost 9 km long. People riding bikes don't cause traffic, cars cause traffic. Someone tell Dreeshen, k?

Marcüs reposted

Every conversation about bike lanes is like: "Car crashes kill a huge number of people every day, including pedestrians, cyclists, & car occupants. Good bike infrastructure has been shown to make everyone safer (& doesn't increase congestion)." "But sometimes cyclists break rules & hit people!"

Welcome to the war on cars, Mr. President. For real though, I can't believe all the free clips he is giving dems right before midterms. This man hates his party so much.

once again this is useful for demonstrating that the media that spent 25 years using "gotta support the troops we love the troops do you support our brave troops" as a cudgel against anyone opposed to war were full of shit this entire time. they never even cared a little tiny bit about the troops

This is a coalition that can be repeated in Buffalo, we just need a credible challenger to our congressman.

Opinion Haver@asinmarx.bsky.social

El-Sayed did strongest among the denser urbanized inner suburbs of Detroit, growing medium sized cities, college towns, and the crunchy rural/lib retiree towns on the lake. Where he struggled was rural whites, wealthier suburbs, sprawling exurbs, and Black voters. That's a familiar coalition.

Astonishing. RFK Jr. adds 8 members to a 6 member FDA advisory panel. 6 of them were sellers of peptides, and the 7th a compounding pharmacist. In an 8-6 vote with all 8 votes coming from these new panel members, the panel approved 4 peptides against the objections of FDA scientists.

Would love to see these in Buffalo!

There are many examples of useless bike racks, but here’s one I like. It’s made of material that’s hard to cut, shaped in a way where you can get a U-lock through the rack, wheel, and frame, bolted to the ground with security screws, spaced wide apart, located away from a wall, and attractive. 😍
