I will be damned if I allow a bunch of Confederate-waving January 6th apologists give the American people a lecture on flag waving. There is ZERO reason to enter an argument about patriotism with people who still worship traitors to America 150+ years later. They. Are. Breaking. The. Law.

Lots of folks are expressing dismay over having to cheer on Gavin Newsom. So remember: We are loyal to the policy, not the politician. Oppose those who do the wrong thing, even when they are otherwise good people. Support those who do the right thing, even when they are loathsome shit weasels.

Everything was fine until Trump decided to unleash violent raids w/o grounds in elementary schools, shopping areas, & peaceful public spaces. ICE then illegally blocked Members of Congress entry into the facilities they are disappearing people into, escalating the situation. Let’s start there.

anyway CNN is reporting that Pentagon lawyers are defining the RULES OF ENGAGEMENT for the U.S. Marines against civilians in L.A. and at the same time you have Serious Journalists™ defending the suspension of a reporter for calling Stephen Miller a hateful person

I’ll implement Trump’s beautiful EOs that brain dead Biden disaster policies forced us to terrible policies, worst in the history of the US a total disaster of a presidency only Trump can restore with his very high IQ individual. Do I get the job? Do I need more caps?

Here’s the abundance pitch using for the survey: "The big problem is 'bottlenecks' that make it harder to produce housing, expand energy production, or build new roads and bridges." That sounds like technobabble, right? Importantly, it seems hard to trust anything in that sentence. Bottlenecks?

The populist message (which I can’t quote because that would require drilling down into article again while posting) is basically: “Billionaires are the problem”. That statement is obviously true. And it takes political will to do something about it, such as an entire party running on fixing it.

Now, I strongly suspect the bottleneck point is also true. And it should be fixed! But I’m not remotely surprised it doesn’t sell. Fix that also. Include that as well! But it’s not hard to understand why it’s not the best message to mainly run on.

The issue is Consultant Dems are reading the word "weak" in crosstabs and have figured out an answer: "pander to racists, but more thuggishly." They are not reading "strength" as "actually believe in human rights and make decisions based on that core tenet." The good news is the latter is winning.

Just catching up here. I did the same route 2 days ago—Paris to the US—and at LAX now they do not even look at passports of US citizens returning home through customs, they take your picture and move you along. I guess I wasn't enough of a dissident. www.thehandbasket.co/p/hasan-pike...

thehandbasket.coHasan Piker’s ICE detainment is a cautionary tale for multiple reasonsThe progressive Twitch star's account of his experience shows unchecked power, and what *not* to do if detained.

Maintaining the filibuster was *always* stupid on so many levels. The only thing Republicans care about are taxes and judges: hey, the two things that don’t allow a filibuster!! Actually, any monetary amount, taxes or spending, can be modified without the filibuster. The filibuster never helps.

This post is unavailable.

This has been so obvious for so long, I can only assume Obama and the Dems in power at times they could get rid of the filibuster liked how it protected them from needing to do anything. Easy excuse to avoid pissing off the big donors. That or they are just stupid. Corrupt or stupid?

It's 2015. President Barack Obama has accepted a "sky palace" jumbo jet from the Qatari government, which he'll own after he leaves office. "Everybody relax," he says in an interview with the New York Times. Everyone does. The networks then televise the military parade in his honor on his birthday.

I don’t want to live in a world where lawsuits like this have any legal basis at all. For profit health insurance is what should be outlawed.

Trump: "I always liked Gavin. I have a good relationship with him. I just got him a lot of water. I sent in people to open up that water. We just got him a lot of water. If they would've had that water and done what I said to do, they wouldn't have had the fires in Los Angeles."

Back when Obama tried (and failed) to close Guantánamo this was my compromise suggestion. The only reason to keep Guantánamo open was because terrorists have superpowers. Since Alcatraz already designed to handle superpowers, it just made sense!

I’d like to thank Trump for guaranteeing we get another progressive Pope! I was honestly worried the next Pope would be a right-wing nutcase. The pendulum swings back n forth, obviously. And they say he never does anything helpful. First Canada, now this!

This is a widely inaccurate & dangerous mischaracterization. The vaccine was developed in fetal cells obtained from two elective abortions in the early 1960s. There is not abortion debris floating around in the vaccine. And the Vatican has okayed its use. RFK Jr. is again spreading disinformation.

Not only should we stop referring to CECOT as a “prison,” but we should stop referring to this as deportation. That also implies process and a legal system led to it. This is legally sanctioned human trafficking. El Salvador is profiting off our government’s trafficking of humans to it.

There’s just so much shady shit in this story, but this really sticks out. Folks in NLRB’s IT unit were so freaked out by what they saw DOGE doing that they wanted to notify the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. Then this happened:

Phillip Anderson@phillipanderson.bsky.social

HOLY SHIT. You need to read this in its entirety. Way too much to even begin to summarize but it's really, REALLY bad. It's just one agency, NLRB, but it's likely happening at others. We are under attack, seemingly from the inside. What's happening here should put folks in prison
