I'm more than tired of Republicans and the rich acting like working people are entitled to work until they drop dead and little else. It's like anything to make their lives half human is an affront to them.

When the Democrats take control of Congress I want to see accountability. I want to see the people that are trying to destroy our republic held to account. We must not "move on" like we did after the Iraq war. Like we did after the financial crisis in 2008. Like we did after Nixon.

In retrospect, 1937–1969 is the exception to the Court's long history of favoring property and monied interests. The shift back began under Burger and accelerated under Rehnquist. Sad times to be an average person under today's Court. 2/2

I don’t really care what is in people’s hearts. I care about what they say and what they do. I want to make homophobia and transphobia so shameful and taboo that bigots dare not express or act on it for fear of dire social and professional consequences.

I want my enemies to live in fear that the public will discover their true, hideous feelings about me and mine, and that the revelation will destroy them. I want their bigotry to be a shameful aberration they must hide and indulge only in secret if at all. "Mask On" forever...

You know, the thing is, I had drafted this piece a month ago, and then never published it, because I thought maybe it was too mean.

This looks like a carjacking, not law enforcement. I would have driven off too. I think any sane, reasonable person would have done the same.

The NYPD just released surveillance video of the ICE shooting (which occurred off camera). Two men in civilian clothes run up to a car with guns drawn. One second later, one man begins smashing the butt of his gun into the driver’s side window. The driver appears to panic and hit the gas.

Because of all the damage and degradation caused by livestock grazing in Wilderness, its relatively tiny contribution to the livestock industries, and the taxpayer subsidies it requires, it is well past time to end all livestock grazing in Wilderness. wildernesswatch.org/its-time-to-...

There is something deeply wrong with trying to kill a person twice, then sending her to a hospital for life saving measures so that they can try to kill her again.

We're having a pizza party. Person 1: I want mushrooms and pepperoni. Person 2: I want mushrooms and piles of dogs shit. Like so much dog shit. Person 3: I hate mushrooms, so both pizzas are the same, and I'm not voting. And that's how we got dog shit pizza.

What 9/11 showed is that Osama bin Laden understood the US would tilt into madness after an attack. And we did everything possible to prove him right. We dishonored the dead, made our country crueler, and started wars that killed up to a million people. That should also be what we remember.

This is seismic news for fisheries scientists. Northern cod is *the* iconic symbol of total fisheries collapse due to overfishing (and other factors) *and* the iconic symbol of a complete failure to recover for decades afterwards. This is like announcing the complete recovery of bison on land.

Conservatives have a major political interest in rejecting Lindsay Clancy’s legal defense. If they concede postpartum psychosis is real, they’ll also have to admit that pregnancy and childbirth are dangerous for women’s mental health. And that could take down their abortion politics entirely

This was the video I was looking for yesterday to post. I follow Joshua Wright on instagram because we are both passionate about saving old trees. This was an ancient forest valley that was recently logged on Vancouver Island. They cut down one of the largest Yellow Cedar tree in Canada. 😢

Meant to post this two days ago, but it has been a year (and two days) since JD Vance said after a mass shooting that it's outrageous anyone thinks calls for prayer are a way to deflect responsibility for taking action against gun violence. Maybe action will come next year.

It's worth noting that this isn't a random number but a goal that would simply restore the court to an earlier norm in which there's one justice for each of the judicial circuits. We used to have nine, we now have thirteen. The people defending the current setup have the tougher case to make here.

It is SO blatantly obvious everything that’s happening is because both parties are owned almost entirely by AIPAC. They don’t actually believe in anything. They’re just in it for the money. They will fritter and fetterman away your whole country.

As @brandyjensen.bsky.social once wrote, "Too often these days I find myself in the position of defending someone I think is annoying from someone I know is dangerous." I can work with annoying. I don't have to like them. I can't work with fascists. Democrats should have a laser focus on fascists.

📌The so-called leadership of the Democratic Party are not fighters, they are appeasers, stunningly out of touch with their voters, and ignorant of world history. I suggest they google "Neville Chamberlain" to see what happens when you chum up violent, fascist regimes. This is really grotesque.

So, it’s not a conspiracy, and you are not imagining it. The biggest and wealthiest tech leaders are genuine fascists. They are leading an active and intentional systematic attack on labor. And they have radicalized each other while sidelining or removing the remaining decent execs in the industry.

The vandalism and desecration of the White House isn't just vanity and it's not trivial. It's caesarism, as in literally what Julius Caesar did to the symbolic architecture of civic republicanism. Our national iconography matters and allowing the disfiguring of it to persist is a substantive harm.
