I know people instinctively recoil at monocausal explanations and want important trends to have sufficiently weighty causes, but “We built a novel social environment that rewards anger and lurid pessimism and moved 95% of political discourse into it” is a pretty good explanation for a lot of stuff

I read the Globe and I was waiting for this mess to hit the TL today. There’s a far more interesting potential story about the mis/use of social justice and cultural trauma concepts to harass and manipulate but unfortunately I do think the author was going for “look at these crazy queers”
