Alex Pretti’s family holding their first news conference addressing the media this morning. It’s been 9 months since their son was disarmed before being shot to death by federal agents in Minneapolis. No one has been held responsible.

In Minneapolis, which Flanagan's campaign notes was the "heart of Operation Metro Surge," early voter turnout last week hit 101% of equivalent 2024 turnout.

Peggy Flanagan's campaign shares some "facts from the ground" today: *540,347 Minnesotans have already voted, breaking records for early voting engagement in a midterm election. *That’s up from 358,648 at the same point in 2022. *Voters in Dem strongholds are turning out at record-high numbers.

A part of this not mentioned is that Texas used to let kids transition. I volunteered at a camp for trans kids in Houston when I was in college (pre transition I know I know how did I not know I was trans). Guess where part of that camp was? Texas Children’s. That’s how much we lost

PS: Conversing with @scottwhitegloves.bsky.social down-thread, I realized I should have linked a story of how Trump repeatedly lied about his Project 2025 support. We knew he was lying. The media often just parroted the lies. We need ways to break through the lies w/our own media.

These fucks knew that kid was autistic, and chose to do this. ICE is just permission to be a NAZI against anything "other." This is white supremacist fascism. This is ethnic cleansing. They will come for Autism also.

My hope for you is that you always feel safe and warm, and that you will someday find yourself surrounded by wild Muppets in the heart of the forest, with plenty of wine & books and without a care in the world.

3, indubitably forevermore

This is my 4th autumn here and I am FINALLY going to attend Barebones Puppets' Halloween Extravaganza for the first time.

I’m halfway though this movie and absolutely astounded by it: Little Forest 🥹 boxd.it/fYHI

wellstone was the first politician i ever got to volunteer for. people love to quote “we all do better when we all do better” but i try to live by this one: “If we don't fight hard enough for the things we stand for, at some point we have to recognize that we don't really stand for them.”

We can honor their memory—and also the memories of Marcia, Mary, Tom, and Will—by working to ensure that organized people can beat organized money once again in Minnesota.

Paul Wellstone's last campaign was my first.  I’m so grateful for the opportunities the young organizer in this photo was given because of Paul and Sheila.

The Hunt was fascinating. Much of it was odd, but my god Betty Gilpin was on a whole other level, performing a role for two realities, with the other one getting the better script.

Currently, Hasbro’s guidelines keep us from having total ownership over the work we make in our free time. Our union aims to change that and ensure we own what we make in our free time. actionnetwork.org/forms/uwotcp...

p sure my evening plans are to make party popcorn, light up, and watch The Hunt PLEASE let it cool down 😅

Also... Linda Cardellini is aging like a FINE WINE.

Linda Cardellini man. I will watch her in anything.

I am begging folks to reckon with the appropriate ways to deal with bad faith, pseudoscience, junk science, and legal interpretations that ignore precedent, logic, and/or the plain text of the constitution. On-Brand Hint: Consider reviewing the Paradox of Tolerance.

perhaps more exciting than being on tv was meeting debbie shields, the women who improv’d with conan on subway takes

Fall is here. So we can finally talk about this serious topic... Jonagold vs. Honeycrisp apples.

The supervisor of our Early Vote Center, gone. The supervisor overseeing mail staff, gone. Our lead election judge trainer, gone. Supervisor of logistics staff making sure equipment functions correctly and polling sites have what they need, gone.

I should have mentioned that my office is Minneapolis Elections & Voter Services. The Mayor's budget eliminates seven staff members less than two weeks before an anxiety-inducing midterm. No more high school election judge program. No more voter outreach.

wound up taking the broken kitchenaid mixer post-divorce, figured it needed a part replaced. finally pulled it out tonight, watched some youtube videos, and repaired it myself. All it needed was a bunch of screws tightened. thank you, phillips head screwdriver.

FUCK ICE. Belatedly found out that friends of a friend of a friend were taken a few weeks ago. In my head, I knew it hadn’t stopped, but I’m really feeling it in my heart right now. Full of rage and heartache.

Unemployment has run out, and we have yet to get another TV job (though we've come close!). We have savings, but if my work means anything to you, I would really, really, really appreciate you becoming a subscriber. And now you can make me watch your favorite crap!

The cover-up continues. First they lied about what we could see with our own eyes & called Alex Pretti & Renee Good ‘domestic terrorists.’ Now they’re back to hiding evidence from MN state investigators. MN investigators must be given access to ALL evidence. This impunity must end.

This diagram is both brilliant and depressing. Context: apparently Bsky is blocking onlyfans links in profiles. That’s bullshit.

There is an essential & extremely generalizable point here. Critical thinking is a team sport. We all need metacognition buddies because human brains. It doesn't matter how quote unquote smart you are. Especially in the slop times. The most pernicious aspect of ChatGPT is how it isolates minds.
