The only reason I can think of for this news not being absolutely everywhere is that large media orgs don’t want to be seen as putting their thumbs on the scales a week before election day. And that’s cowardly as shit.

Beyond disgusted by even more rape allegations against the President of the United States. "In total, more than 25 different women...have independently accused Donald Trump of rape, sexual assault, or other sexual misconduct." Report w/ new details: democrats-judiciary.house.gov/sites/evo-su...

I’m confused, I thought audiences were hungry for uncancelled Johnny Depp but there’s already a fire sale for tickets to his comeback?

I’m seeing people reacting by pointing out that he’s obviously wrong. I appreciate that, but it’s also a pointless exercise. The problem isn’t that he’s wrong. The problem is that this is normal in American politics — and it’s been normal for a while.

RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."

Leave it to the guy who eats roadkill and grows worms in his brain to forget what culture literally invented fucking NUMBERS.

America is the indisputable head of the new Nazi global order. They take their marching orders from Trump.

BREAKING WaPo: Brazil's right-wing Flávio Bolsonaro just effectively conceded defeat to the incumbent left-wing president — minutes after Trump indicated he would not intervene on his behalf.

Is it good when the Republican president is getting heckled in Mississippi a week before the midterms

FactPost@factpostnews.bsky.social

Trump is interrupted by a protester in Mississippi: "Shove that ballroom up your ass!"

Really can't think of a better whipping boy than James Comey. He subjected us all to the past 10 years because he was desperate to wag his finger at Hillary in a totally unprecedented fashion a week before an election. Fuck off.

First question: "Nicki, is your sex offender husband currently properly registered as such in his current place of residence? Follow up: do you allow him to be alone with your child?"

There's nuance here about "how do we use platforms owned by the fascists". You *have to understand the political purpose of the platforms* in order to use them to subvert authoritarians. For the most part, Americans simply do not. Centrists (including DNC consultants) do not. Major media does not.

Kim Sherrell@web.kim

Key lessons from Brazil Amplify our people. Ignore the opposition. Use the tools owned by fascists to defeat the fascists? Meet the people where they are. May need to reconsider my staunch position of boycotting Meta for the reason. Thoughts?

"We... animated some photos that are in the public domain, and from what we’ve been hearing from people it does bring people closer to that time in history." I doubt that making some photos swirl around looking all shitty will offset how many of us won't watch now bc it's tainted with AI garbage.

Layla Pigott (they/she)@laylapigott.bsky.social

Scorsese, Affleck, Boyle, Lyonne, & now Ava DuVernay. Incredibly disappointing & heartbreaking. Absolutely love her work as an artist but using gen AI bullshit to "bring public domain photos to life" instead of hiring an artist is shameful. You didn't need it before. You don't need it now.

However dumb you think Americans are, multiply it by 10 and you might start to get an idea of the depths of the stupidity. I don't really understand how we build a country with this.

None of us should forget this. Meta should be subjected to corporate death penalty and permanently broken up into small pieces.

NY voter info: voting for Hochul on row D is essential to preserving the @nywfp.bsky.social ballot line which was a crucial tool for Zohran’s win, how we beat the GOP state senate etc. Vote yes on all nyc ballot measures. # 1 is of particular importance to me. It’ll make the city more accessible.

I just want to name that people overcame this. Even against a stacked deck, the good fight is worth it. Win or lose, it's worth it. And sometimes the good guys win.

Bolsonaro-friendly mayors appear to be sabotaging public transport on Election Day. Buses aren’t running in Lula-friendly areas, flights and ferries mysteriously canceled. Traffic lights have gone out and people’s power cut in Salvador, indigenous people’s travel restricted

Mr. Howard reposted

One benefit of holding leaders accountable for crimes is that if Flávio Bolsonaro tries to overturn this election, he knows exactly where he’d end up. In prison, next to his father.

Mr. Howard reposted

Congrats to Lula on overcoming Mark Zuckerberg and Donald Trump to defeat Hospital Pervert Jr., even as his opposition literally blocked off roads and turned off bus service during election day. Fascists are scary but they are always, 100% of the time, ultimately gigantic fucking losers.

It's really important to pay attention to the fact that Lula beat the fascist candidate not by compromising and trying to meet fascist voters in the middle, but by sticking to his guns, promising prosecutions for election interference, and mobilising his own voters to turn out in greater numbers.

🇧🇷 My favorite country survives. 🇧🇷 Ordem e Progresso

Taniel@taniel.bsky.social

Lula has been reelected president, Brazilian media has now called. An extraordinary comeback for the left-wing politician who trailed by 2 points in round 1 but managed to hold off Flávio Bolsonaro, the former president's son.

All it takes.

Kansas Dem Sen. nominee Adam Hamilton on trans rights: “I don’t think we should take a small group of people and bully them, pick on them, and hurt them. I understand one thing really clearly when it comes to transgender people, and that is Jesus told me I was to love my neighbor as I love myself”

Not only is this tone deaf & cynical, it existentially damages the credibility of a party that is supposed to be built on standing up for the most vulnerable. And it WON'T FUCKING WORK Why would someone who hates trans people go for a 75% anti-trans candidate against someone who'd put them in camps?

Erin Reed@erininthemorning.com

Senate Democrats posted this the same day Josh Turek released the worst anti-trans ad of the cycle. Meanwhile, DCCC released their own anti-trans ad last week in South Carolina.

According to some commenters on a Facebook post this is the killer. This is the level of journalistic rigor being applied to this story.

Yet another closure of the G train – the only way to get between North & Central Brooklyn on public transit that takes less than an hour – just as it is out of commission pretty much every weekend ostensibly because of Superstorm Sandy damage which happened FOURTEEN YEARS AGO in Obama's first term.

When the Bond movies came out, everyone thought they were real. Cubby Broccoli didn't concede they were fictional until the 1980s. Most of their success was owed to the popular misconception that ten percent of ticket sales went to support the Bond program.

We tried "everyone is entitled to an opinion" for three straight decades and all we have to show for it is four thousand cases of measles and a death cult running the government. It's time for people who don't know what they're talking about to shut the fuck up.

They’ll say they were mistaken. They’ll hem and haw and lie and delay bc the federal government is all a manifestation of Trump now and that’s what he does and has always gotten away with it. Only way to stop it is a real consequence: jail. Fines won’t work either.

HOLY SHIT. In a sworn statement yesterday, an ICE agent told a federal judge that an ICE flight to Equatorial Guinea had been cancelled and so couldn't be used to bring Ahmed Soliman back to the United States. The plane just landed in Equatorial Guinea. prospect.org/2026/10/23/t...
