Bay Area residents take 1M+ trips every weekday on our four largest transit systems — to get to work, school & everywhere in between.
We can’t let devastating cuts take that away. I’m voting YES on the Regional Transit Measure to keep our region moving. www.sfgate.com/news/bayarea...
i am inviting anyone from a legacy media organization to explain to me why the house judiciary dems report on trump’s epstein’s ties and multiple allegations of rape isn’t worthy of extensively reporting on. i’m serious. i want to understand.
They put THREE reporters on this dumb totally oppo story about how Mamdani is playing basketball at a police facility ar 11 pm? www.politico.com/news/2026/10...
Even setting aside the two accusers whose stories are shakier, we have three strong and credible direct accusations. Then we have three more young women who have evidence of Trump participating in Epstein's trafficking ring.
This report has a lot more information than that one less-than-credible accusations against Trump. If people read (I know, it's an impossible ask), you'll see there are three more I would deem extremely well-evidenced and credible.
This report is genuinely overwhelming, in terms of the evidence both against Trump and of a ham-fisted cover-up.
Including one instance in which Ghislaine Maxwell was actually about to mention one of Trump's young accusers and Todd Blanche told her to stop talking.
The media response is "yawn."
Will anyone—anyone at all—ask Trump about the rape allegations published in an official report by the House Judiciary Democrats? Or will he continue to escape accountability for his violence?
A serial rapist was elected twice as President, a fact we don't reckon with nearly enough. Now one of two major political parties has been molded in his image, run for and by violent sexual abusers who hate women.
Beyond disgusted by even more rape allegations against the President of the United States.
"In total, more than 25 different women...have independently accused Donald Trump of rape, sexual assault, or other sexual misconduct."

The only reason I can think of for this news not being absolutely everywhere is that large media orgs don’t want to be seen as putting their thumbs on the scales a week before election day. And that’s cowardly as shit.

looked at in longer perspective, it's striking how much this resembles the premodern system of exclusion, rents, and personalist connections, which was--and this part's important--radically worse than the modern system of impersonal rules and general taxation
Boston’s chief planner is a true believer in the San Francisco model, in which you make it impossible to profitably build apartments by-right so developers are forced into a politicized discretionary negotiation with the city, which relaxes the rules in exchange for below-market units.
There is a candidate for local office in Berkeley who refuses to disclose their campaign expenses. And they've changed treasurer three times, currently to a treasurer with no address, phone, or email.
@estupido.fyi rate this campaign 1-10
Politico wrote up Zohran playing basketball with the uncovering-a-big-scandal tone the same day the NYTimes wrote up "credible allegation that The President of the United States raped a woman" as a political strategy story. Broken media in a nutshell
New: Mayor Zohran Mamdani and a group of his friends have been secretly using the NYPD Police Academy’s gymnasium in Queens to play pickup basketball — scrambling some operations at the facility.

I know there's a lot going on but I feel it should probably be more of an above-the-fold story that members of Congress released a thoroughly documented report directly accusing the president of the United States of being a serial rapist.
Republican campaigns and political action committees have spent nearly $3 million at President Trump’s businesses since he returned to office.
And spending at Mar-a-Lago has tripled compared to Trump's first term.
This is clear profiteering.
The case opens the door for other federal employees to sue to get their jobs back. This is not an ideal process since it is costly for all concerned to go to court. That is why we used to have a credible and bipartisan appeals process. But the Supreme Court has allowed Trump to gut it.
Key passage from the decision. "Indeed, to accept Defendants’ argument would be to unsettle the very equilibrium established by this Nation’s constitutional system."
Of course, the concern is that SCOTUS will overturn this (though I don't imagine this is the ideal case for Trump).
Very good news, because the DOJ was arguing that SCOTUS rulings allowed it to pervert the civil service system. Comey was arguing that internal appeals processes were simply no longer functional because they have been so politicized.

Well this is a big deal . . .
A federal court has just ruled that the Trump administration's termination of Maurene Comey (an AUSA with the Southern District of New York) was unlawful.
Also in addition to people deliberately gaming the system for various reasons, "skin in the game" can only increase motivation which doesn't increase accuracy for people who don't have any special access to information or insight, it just encourages them to believe harder in their ungrounded wishes
Another banger from @vermontgmg.bsky.social.
The only solution will be expropriating all the ill-gotten gains secured by the Trump Crime Family & all their hangers-on (the Witkoffs, the Lutnicks, the Kushners), and criminal indictments, convictions & prison.

People have made it clear they want affordable health care, not higher premiums and less coverage.
Last year, Republicans cut health care all to give tax breaks to billionaires. Now, the effects are being felt everywhere.
Based on WSJ sources, Trump administration officials are reportedly floating former Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orbán for UN secretary-general, potentially backed by the US, Russia and China.
NEW: "Donald Trump was an active participant in Jeffrey Epstein’s sexual abuse of young women during the mid-to-late 1990s," per new House Judiciary Dem report.
Report has new allegation that Trump raped a 24-year-old and then promised the victim a visa & NYU admission, demanding she stay quiet.
Is anybody else noticing all the updated consumer service agreements coming into their emails recently? We’re speeding into an era of arbitration over class action to protect corporations.
Pretty sure this can’t be good for the 99.99% in the US

There was always legal review and sometimes it was a pain but there wasn't the same dread of getting sued that we've got now. It's sad. The climate for free expression is definitely being chilled.
We've got to reimpose penalties for lying. With the main penalty being that you will no longer be taken seriously if you get caught in a blatant lie, let alone a pattern of lying. This "say anything" era for public figures has got to end.
