Reform plan to bring back imperial measurements to help boost US trade, not realising that US imperial measurements are different from UK ones. So dense a black hole is empty space by comparison.

Agreed. Putin thinks he can get whatever he wants out of his sock puppets (this includes Elon Musk and Peter Thiel as well as Trump). Remember, as WSJ and ZDF reported, the FBI documented both Musk and Thiel have secret, undisclosed conversations directly with Putin over the last five years

Maybe the most amazing aspect of the Russo-Ukraine War is that Russia is getting backing from both China and the USA, the two largest powers of the moment--and Ukraine could still emerge triumphant as long as Europe backs it stoutly.

Remember, fascists have never won power without the help of mainstream conservatives. There are still some (many?) within the Conservative Party who would aid and abet a right-wing autocracy rather than see a democratic left-wing government. bsky.app/profile/flip...

Fascism has never come to power without money from rich people and the collusion of at least some of the mainstream conservative right. All that stuff about liberty and the rule-of-law goes out of the window when a left-ish government threatens to make them pay a bit more tax.

I also can't stress this enough. I haven't seen one panic piece commentary on European gas storage that looked ahead to gas availability over the winter (you don't need to pay for storage if you can optimise your portfolio on the water as US LNG exports inevitably go crackers over the winter).
