Mark Zuckerberg is straight up way more evil than Elizabeth Holmes but because he’s got a lot of money the tech press has to go to his little events and pretend his ideas are valid instead of being like “what’s up with that dumbass shirt?” and “don’t you regularly influence elections/genocides?”

"Trans people are a tiny group with no power" This isn't true, and I hope my trans readers can internalize this. You are more powerful than you think. Trans and gender expansive people are 2.34% of the US population in the latest survey. That is more than enough to swing a race.

Here's Lula celebrating tonight with Erika Hilton, a transgender politician who led the drive to end the six-day work week in Brazil. Erika showed workers solidarity, they showed her solidarity back. Solidarity is how fascism loses.

as a compromise with the people worried about "men who pretend to be trans," men who enter the women's restrooms should be punished by being forced to take estrogen.

A lot of things lining up right now. - Potential Dem wave election. - This ad going to close race states. - Vivek's ad against Acton defusing the "trans issues won this election" claim preemptively. - Talarico not supporting a trans sports ban - Polls showing anti-trans ads backfiring Good stuff.

Democratic-aligned group Progress Action Fund has released a PRO-trans ad, attacking Republicans for being creepy in bathrooms. It will run in Texas and Ohio, and is expected to reach millions. You have to see the ad itself. Subscribe to support our journalism.

do think there's a danger of looking at extremely cool shit like a car driving upside down then doing a kickflip before landing, and convincing yourself it's actually lame because the guy funding it is a white supremacist

Politics are so tiring as an lgbt person, polling data determines whether we are profitable or not acceptable or not and this changes every 2-4 years like a pendulum. Commit to being in our side or stop marketing towards us only when it’s expedient

And I know this is preaching to the choir, and I known people do still have problems with rainbow capitalism, but as long as we live under capitalism I much rather be a marketable demographic than a subhuman

My therapist told me how remarkable and inspiring (her words!) my attitude and collection of tools and coping mechanisms is, and it felt eerily similar to my treatment-resistant depression/PTSD diagnosis. Like, fuck, I’ve done absolutely everything I can and I’m STILL gonna feel like shit?

I’m on a flight next to a guy who is listening to Seinfeld with no headphones and all I hear is the laughtrack and the worst bass noises of all time every 15 seconds and all I can think about is this.

boycott it so your trans friends don’t get a sick feeling in their stomach when they come over to your house for a party & see a stack of HP merch on your bookshelf, politely excuse themselves a bit early without saying anything, and then go home feeling just a little degraded

"JK Rowling is already a billionaire and everyone already knows about Harry Potter, what's the point of boycotting?" Nobody thinks boycotting will bankrupt her. We know she's gonna die rich. We're just asking you to show a shred of solidarity with trans folk. Absolute low bar bare minimum shit.

Some people refuse pathologically to grow up and I do think that is reflected in the art they choose to give their attention too

Like I love a lot of things that can be co spidered children’s media, but refusing to go outside of that is what I am saying, or even refusing to watch anything but the most sanitized media for a mass audience

Has anyone talked about how AI undos the Death of the Author yet? Cause it kinda does doesn’t it? It feels like we really have to center that art is communication, why would I want to talk to a wall? A Chinese room if you will

I’ve been a media witness to two federal executions. One was Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh. The other, a week later, was a drug kingpin named Juan Raul Garza. My conclusion after watching both men die: The death penalty should not exist. Period. It fixes nothing, and it erodes our souls.

The Facial Expressions of Tethys by artist Julius von Bismarck. A suspended high-sea buoy that moves in real time. Sensors on a twin buoy out in the Atlantic Ocean send live satellite data to motors inside the museum. This makes the indoor buoy copy the exact, real-time movements of the ocean waves.

Seeing the “memes” people make with AI really makes me think that drawing and or having basic photoshop skills to make an image was such a good way of gatekeeping from shit low effort ideas from making it into the world

there should be a journal called Games and it's the most prestigious academic journal on the planet. it would be about the social analysis and artistic criticism of board games, video games, and social games
