say it with me fellas 🗣️ the ocean of truth washes over the pebbles with every wave, and they rattle and clink with the most wondrous din 🗣️

Every year, I mentor students who spend weeks submitting to Hertz (unless I can dissuade them). And every year, these shameful stats 😡 1) rich-get-richer while 2) disingenuously stealing the time of thousands of students, who believe it's about merit of their work @bakerdphd.bsky.social

The "prestige" of these fellowships comes from the thousands of non-funded applicants, who create a "competitive" landscape, and prop up the aura of "rigorous selection process". Here's the fundraising email from Hertz, two weeks ago. To fund 0.01% of applicants, from 7 institutions 😡!!!!

NEW: NSF has been funding research at a fraction of its historic rate. Last week, the agency finally began distributing money to its directorates and is now likely to pick up the grantmaking pace. But these allocations also amount to substantial cuts across the sciences. My reporting:

The Infowars news is funny, yes. But more importantly, it is an outright rebuke of Alex Jones' evil. It's testament to the strength and resilience of the Sandy Hook families who survived this bullshit for more than a decade as well as the Onion, which didn't give up on this for the last 18 months.

These are the rantings of a bloodthirsty lunatic. It is sick beyond measure to threaten to wipe out an entire civilization. This is not what the American people want. It is well past time for the Republican Congress to join Democrats and put an end to this war.
