Dragon Age means so much to me after so many wonderful friends and memories. I’ve made 7 complete cosplays (3 winter palace uniforms, Bethany, Cole, Briala, and Isabela) and helped pattern two more (winter palace uniform and the standard Dorian). One day I’ll finally make a Grey Warden…

brazil is the only country whose president gives a black and trans congresswoman a kiss on the cheek, just think about it a bit get into politics, we need everyone

Yun@rubydofox.bsky.social

I want all trans people to know that Erika Hilton is a black transwoman and the most-voted congresswoman in the history of Brazil, with 1.5 millions votes. She campaigned for Lula over the last three weeks. WE TRANS PEOPLE CAN EXIST IN POLITICS. It’s not a dream. It’s already a reality in Brazil!

I’m not a political journalist, so was gladly surprised at the community I found here last night. To Americans anxious about the upcoming elections, a key thing we learned in Brazil that might help you: DO NOT engage with the far-right online. Don’t share rage bait. Amplify your people. Ignore them.

In his acceptance speech, Lula says he will work to regulate digital platforms in Brazil. “Digital crimes must be dealt with like real-life crimes.” This comes after Meta directly interfered with the Brazilian elections, favouring Flávio Bolsonaro.

It’s no accident this iteration of fascism has most explicitly targeted trans people, immigrants, Muslims, pro-Palestine protesters… all marginalized groups MAGA can trust certain Dems/centrists to withhold solidarity from / throw under the bus

Chuck Schumer — one of the most powerful Democrats in the country — has not issued statements to the press or through his social media channels about the administration’s attack on Ilhan Omar, which critics have described as a five alarm fire for the state of democracy in the U.S.

This whole thread is instructive (about writing tie-in novels), but the bit at the end starting here is a particularly interesting story.

Now, an example of a fight I won: if you read OVERWATCH: DECLASSIFIED, you will learn more about the hero Pharah's family, including her father, Sam. Sam is First Nations Canadian from the Pacific Northwest. He didn't have a surname when the book was being written.

Back in MY day we got mad and wrote a 100,000 word fix it fic. Fandom these days is SOFT I TELL YOU they would never survive the things I have seen

I happened to get a skip the line copy on Libby, and thought why not find out how bad the book is. I’m kinda disappointed it is actually a decent book and not actual hot garbage I was promised. A lot of the criticism I had seen was disproven 1 hour into the audiobook.

I saw one post completely misunderstanding him, asking why he never visits his mother or why he doesn’t explain his triggers or trauma. While acknowledging he doesn’t have therapy nor in a safe situation to explore these things. Where I’m at he told himself twice to not dwell on an unhappy thought

We’re getting the jerk we meet in Act 1, who will hold a knife to your throat upon first meeting and steal your blood while you sleep.

Exactly as predicted: Elder abuse. This is from Danny Trejo’s son, Gilbert Trejo. Not only did Ben Shapiro’s camp trick the elder Trejo about what the movie really was, he apparently signed a contract barring him from even putting out a statement about it.

Gillian Brockell@gillianbrockell.com

I had Harvey Keitel and his caregivers on my airplane like 17 years ago and even back then I was like, “This man has dementia and is being propped up by gold diggers.” If you’ve read Trejo’s memoir you know the real him would never do this. Seriously think this is double elder abuse, or fake.

people keep making movies where the premise is "it's kind of like a man but it looks like a monstrous freak but it's nice and sexy and doesn't abuse the woman so it's basically the most romantic thing ever" and men keep not getting it.
