We already knew Minneapolis was #1, but it’s always nice to get some confirmation. Great parks, great neighborhoods, the best biking in the country, and a city people want to move to. Thanks to CityNerd for the shoutout!

The weather and fall colors in Minnesota were so nice today that the only reasonable choice was to take a 20 mile route home. What a spectacular place we're lucky to call home.

When you're sweating in short sleeves after sunset, it's hard to believe October is included among the 7 months of Minnesota winter during which it's too frigid to ride a bike, according to the best estimates of assholes holding microphones at community meetings.

What's left of MAGA is rallying around a few core beliefs. Making horrible shit up about Black, brown and Muslim people, immigrants from certain countries, and trans folks. Obsessing about Biden. Ignoring the Epstein Files, an affordability crisis and unprecedented graft. What a time to be alive.

i wish hatred of cyclists was exclusive to maga and republicans but it's so much more pervasive than that

In 1993, Trump signed a mortgage for a Florida home, pledging it would be his principal residence. Seven weeks later, he attested a neighboring property would also be his principal residence. In reality, he does not seem to have lived in either home. (Published Dec. 2025)

I've never struggled to believe reports of bad behavior by cops because even in my very limited interactions with them in my life, they've often been remarkably unprofessional, rude, and threatening. Just suggested one shouldn't block the only accessible sidewalk and he called me a p*ssy and more.

Really unfortunate to see Evil cynically sending voter suppression attack mail about Lesser Evil for a thing Evil supports twice as hard.

During my Amtrak borealis trip to Chicago this weekend, the conductor announced that a signal was out so they'd have to get out and manually flag the train through. Sure enough, conductors got out, walked to the front, and corked the intersection for the whole damn train 😂

Give Klobuchar a DFL House and Senate, and there will be plenty of positive policy and budget movement. Give DeMuth a DFL House and Senate, and we'll be lucky to have a state budget next year. Primary is the time for protest voting. General is to vote for the least-bad viable candidate.

Fossilized Tree Sap@amberrl.bsky.social

I would fucking love it if you all would stop making me come on here and tell you to grow the fuck up. You have to fill in the box next to Klob’s name. I hate her too—probably even more than you do. But DeMuth is worse. If you do not vote for Klob, you are voting against Minnesota.

I had a large-ish Twitter following and it was professionally useful, but I've never understood the "oh nooo I can't lose all my followers and posts" thing. You are not the National Weather Service. You are not posthumously donating your archives to a university library. This stuff barely matters.

The conversation is pretty goofy. X is a GOP Super PAC run by the largest donor to the GOP ever, who not only is trying to dupe you but is probably using your data to help him dupe others so he never has to pay taxes and can fry Memphis with his dirty data.

The Trump regime is going to try to steal the midterm elections—and they will use X as part of their disinformation and propaganda campaign. It’s really dumb that Democrats and progressive groups still use X as their primary source of sharing news and information.

When I got the email I assumed it was a much larger funding gap. This couldn't be closed?? It's not insignificant, but it's also not that huge. More will be wasted on Mayor Her's lawsuits than this.

Pedaling Professor reposted

This gap is less than it cost the mayor to put a bounce house in the warehouse district for a summer. This is 1/33 the cost of MPS's surprise overtime. They renovated Target Center in part by making us, the citizens, pay $74 million via a sales tax. WE. HAVE. MONEY. We can spend it in better places

Less than the likely cost of two lawsuit settlements against a current StP city council member.... Seriously, this is a pathetically small amount in the scheme of budgets and sadly reminiscent of Nice Ride getting shut down because the core cities don't back up policy with budget support.
