70 percent of the internet was vulnerable yesterday to very bad security flaws inside a coding language. Turns out, *one volunteer* is mostly responsible for maintaining that code & helping push updates. Yesterday Ondřej Surý saved the internet. So I called him up www.theatlantic.com/technology/2...

An excellent compendium on the Alberta referendum, with deep dives on the "Noxious Nine", from the always-thoughtful Sen. Paula Simons.

Heads up! This is a thread - more like a library/compendium - of my columns, speeches & podcasts about Alberta's referendum questions. I thought it might be useful if I gathered it all in one place, organized by time and topic. #Alberta #notothenine #abpoli #cdnpoli

It is a bad day to be running a Republican political campaign: Ukraine's drone strikes on Russian data centers are sending millions of suspected Russian social media bot accounts offline. #democracy #elections #RussianBotFarms #Ukraine #SlavaUkraini #NAFO #Fellas #Blues

All of this👇. It’s important for your kid; it’s just as important for you.

Do we really need to explain to people that it is really, REALLY important to read to young children? Like, you, personally, need to read to your child - your voice, your face, your hand gestures, your lap, your arms, your closeness. What kind of parent doesn't know this in their bones?

God it should not feel this good to have a politician just state the plain truth we all can see, but it does.

Nine days into the NHL's regular season, the Winnipeg Jets are 2nd in the league, without Connor Hellebuyck playing. Hellebuyck, meanwhile, has forfeited US $344,044 (and counting) since the Jets started their season without him. You can track how much money he's giving up, second by second, here:

100% this. I had a Blackberry. They gave me an iPhone. I said, "I really like the tactile keyboard!" They didn't say anything. I said, "I really like all this other stuff..." Blackberry pretty much died. They didn't need to shove iPhone down my throat like they were making iFoieGras.

Part of why I don't like the AI-or-bust economy is the constant flopsweat of people on the news who say this HAS to work. Quit making everyone so anxious. Goddamn. If this is the next Google then why are you acting like this? I don't remember being told to buy an iPhone at gunpoint.

I truly, deeply, sincerely do think the guy flipping burgers at McDonalds should be able to afford rent, bills, and groceries with his paycheck alone. That's kind of the whole point of having a job and I can't believe this is considered a radical position.🤷🏽‍♀️
