Strangers in a Tangled Wilderness@tangledwilderness.bsky.social

Guess what? 1) You can 3D print a crow and squirrel feeder that looks like a Flock camera 2) Crows are extremely good at pattern recognition 3) People are fucking hilarious and creative and I hope every Flock camera gets its own personal murder (of crows) www.printables.com/model/180491...

Back in April, there were reports from the same ship of meager, unappetizing meals. They were already calling Hegseth “dumb McNamara”. If he’s not careful, he’ll earn comparisons to Buchanan's Sec of War, John Floyd

i've been covering national security for decades, on and off. i've never heard of anything like this. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...

And w/ a Chinese Taiwan invasion in the offing in 2027 or so, the chaos is just getting started

Iran is now publicly talking about what I’ve been saying since this war started: They’re trying to Jimmy Carter him, and he’s letting it happen while telling everyone he’s winning.

Robert Caro says that power doesn't corrupt, it *reveals*. AI's still-hypothetical power already reveals which jobs decision makers don't respect or value, don't believe are worth human effort or time, and don't believe require actual human judgement. Today's example: teachers.

"High-T Dept of War"??? Unmatched levels of projection. Insecure men will literally force testosterone testing on an entire military before they go to therapy, I swear to god. How much will his cope cost the taxpayers?

Google had perfected something to the point that its brand name became a common verb and then they decided, wait, let's fuck that up completely.

The only reason to build this monstrosity is to dynamited it on or before January 20th, 2029. Preferably by someone 12 or under cause that’d be adorable

With this crew, I’d be more surprised if he weren’t marrying someone connected to Epstein TBH

Mehdi Hasan@mehdirhasan.bsky.social

How did I only just discover that Don Jr is marrying the daughter of a prominent Epstein enabler? Her late dad, a banker, wrote Epstein a reference letter calling him "a gentleman of the highest integrity" to help get him tax breaks &… his island. Can’t make this stuff up.

Contrary to public perception a huge % of pregnant teenagers in the 1990s were impregnated by adult men. The younger they were, the larger the average age gap between mother and father was. Fixing teen pregnancy was in part a clampdown on statutory rape. That's what conservatives want to reverse.

Lis Power@lispower.bsky.social

Fox News doc on lower fertility rate: "The problem is teens and young adults, from ages 15-19 the fertility rate is down 7%, and it's down 70% over the last two decades, meaning we're telling people that are young not have babies, to wait until they're in a more stable life situation"

Each failed impeachment makes the next harder. So keeping their powder is prudent. Still, with each R Senator’s primary in the past, a window of vulnerability slowly opens. And the Epstein scandal continues its slow, inexorable burn 🔥〰️〰️〰️🧨

Millions of American voters wanted to be villains. They came to believe it’s the key to success, while goodness is weak, woke, loser stuff, done only to signal. Offered the option of unvarnished villainy, they enthusiastically took it. Seeing others suffer more made them feel big. And here we are.

I just keep coming back around to, "there is a reason that no previous president did this foolish thing and it was not because they were weak, woke cowards, but because they could read a cost-benefit analysis."

Introducing the SHUT UP Act, a bill that reduces harmful noise exposure and eliminates vehicle nuisances by making it a misdemanor to: – modify your vehicle exhaust – “roll coal" – obstruct or cover your license plate – excessively tint your windows – use aftermarket LED headlights 1/6

Oh boy. So presidents as varied as both Bushes, Obama, 1st term T***p, AND Biden have all passed on this? That’s a bad sign. A very bad sign

"No stupid rules of engagement" is how you shoot down three of your own F-15s in one day. Just a shocking display of martial ineptitude.

We must speak plainly about the agenda Elon Musk & other MAGA leaders are pushing. It’s white nationalism. There’s no room for Black, Hispanic/Latino, Asian, Native, Jewish or all other Americans in Musk’s monocultural vision. Multiculturalism is superior. We can’t allow Musk & others to end it.

The post-Me Too era has really taught me that the underlying issue with the persistence of sexual violence isn’t exactly women’s credibility, as the “believe women” slogan suggested, but rather with rape’s moral status. It’s not that people think it doesn’t happen. They think it doesn’t matter.
