i dont think this man's perspective is unique. people believe theyre doing good by "following the law". i think people also don't think that they're a part of the system they operate within
In interviews, Alexander described the immigration system he was enforcing as “skewed” and “weird,” but he saw himself as largely separate from these concerns. “If you’re taking federal money to do a job,” he says, “I think you should do the job.”
this mf is so deep in this ideology he's not worth talking/listening to imo. the amount of tv i watch and weed i smoke and times i jerk off does not have anything to do with my (in)/ability or desire to work.
This is the most depressing thing you’ll read today. They’ve dropped out of the workforce because being unemployed isn’t so bad if you can just stay high and play games and watch porn.

this is an insane way to frame this attempted murder. i hope that chud rots
It's a choice (a bad one) to tell readers this driver "passed too close to cyclists" when there's video evidence showing he drove his car into them, made contact and hurt someone. Fellow journalists: we can explore the nuances of punishment for drivers without obfuscating their dangerous behavior.

From 1982-2018 the RNC that Rodgers invokes was under a federal consent decree that restricted its ability to engage in "ballot security measures" to intimidate voters. This is why. There is a reason Rodgers talks about Detroit and no other part of the state. Same reason as always.
Leaked audio: Michigan Republican Mike Rogers asking for officers at polling stations to intimidate voters "We called the RNC early and said hey... Let's put police officers, retired or off-duty police officers as our poll watchers in Detroit because go ahead, try to intimidate them. Please."

Shooting at a car to stop a shoplifter is not justified. Even if no one was harmed, let alone shooting to death a 1 year-old baby.
JUST IN: The police shooting that killed 1-year-old Kohen Wiley as he sat in his mother’s lap in a Walmart parking lot in Senatobia, Miss., in June “was justified,” Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch’s office said on Monday. Her office will not charge the white officer who shot the child.

100% — producing a highly-educated cohort of knowledge workers has overall been a disaster for conservatives and they are trying to reorient the American economy away from it bsky.app/profile/jame...
you should understand the MAGA drive to retool american industry to produce cheap consumer goods as part of the same project

piggybacking off this: the most powerful sales technique in the world, for pretty much all of human history, has been word of mouth. If you like something someone made, TELL YOUR FRIENDS. Tell everyone. Leave reviews. Repost. Talk about it. Link to it and link to the artist. We depend on YOU.
this was an insane story to hear the other night when they told it on the air. bauers was going to retire until his wife got pregnant, so he returned to the league to get on their health insurance.
we should be framing the Jake Bauers insurance story as pro-player and anti-lockout these are not all millionaires a lot of them are guys who need healthcare for their families and are tied to a job just like you

Since WWE's trying to exploit PAC's death, it's time to talk about this: Remember how PAC suddenly had visa issues when AEW started? That's because, when the AEW trademarks were filed, WWE called USCIS to claim he walked out on his visa. After leaving him alone for a year and giving him his release.

This is well-known throughout the wrestling business and among wrestling media. It was never reported because it's such a sensitive issue that everyone kind of quietly agrees not to report on that kind of visa stuff without the talent's permission. But with PAC passing away, that part is moot.
lmao RANDOM. i work in retail in a rural area. zero of the people i interact with follow political trends. their lives are small and tight (not derogatory), influenced by the people and things that go on in their immediate environment, which now includes gas at nearly $5/gal
I'll admit, part of why I'm so skeptical of the emerging realignment thesis of this election is that it just seems so *random* that it would happen NOW, after ten years of Trump being a remarkably consistent public figure and ten years of remarkably consistent political trends.

A forewarning that this one is difficult. But it’s a credit to Duncan Robinson and his family for telling it. They hope it’ll help others. And maybe it’ll be a good reminder that “we can all be a little less certain about knowing what someone is going through.” www.nytimes.com/athletic/761...

By the time this merger ruins HBO, destroys WB, gets 5,000 people fired, moves production overseas, and guts the quality of the movies the new studio makes, most people will have forgotten how fast the AGs caved and how little they got in this deal. Writers will not.
Paramount has reportedly reached a settlement with California and other states suing to block its proposed acquisition of Warner Bros

this is exactly why any "dont talk politics" talk is nonsense. its simply a way to avoid having hard conversations. we prioritize immediate comfortability with our peers over long-term comfortability with our positions/values (which may not have anything to do with the people we see daily)
