A month ago, Sir Jim Ratcliffe lectured the Prime Minister, telling him he should run Britain in the same way he runs Manchester United

The wife of a national security adviser has the police on her for posting "I support Palestine Action" meanwhile this sitting MP retains the whip after essentially arguing that trans people in this country should stay home and die.

Can social media be addictive? @taylorlorenz.bsky.social says no. “You wanting to communicate and chat with your friends every day is not an addiction,” says Lorenz. “And to frame it that way is incredibly harmful and anti-science.”

I'm simply not going to go outside or talk to anyone ever again.

The backlash against sanctions on West Bank settlers (usually without trying to defend their behaviour because it's indefensible) is pretty dismaying to be honest. The idea seems to be that nobody in Israel should ever face any consequences for anything they do. That's a moral dead zone

tbh "don't have a barbecue there's a good lad" is actually a pretty good message to be sending out to everyone on Friday night before the hottest driest weekend of the August holidays. If we were Australia or something we would be used to this but we're not; this is adaptation

I agree with this piece - I don't really wear headphones when out and about - and find the extreme strong reaction to it fascinating and a bit depressing, especially as the angle is "it's nice to live in a society, must we all be in our little auditory bubbles all the time"

Politics in Britain has been a both-hands fuck you to the public for a very long time now but this is an especially egregious and insulting example. Nothing is real and there are no rules, it’s all made up on the hoof.

I bet this goes so hard if you're 11

"I want to touch on what you said: .. the economic challenges facing young people impact men and women. One hundred percent true. But this is the bottom line, and I don’t think we like to admit this: Beyoncé could work at [KFC] and marry Jay-Z. The opposite is not true." I heard the record scratch.

This is an extraordinary story, centred on a group of remarkable women, but it just makes me mourn for the millions of women and girls trapped in Afghanistan, denied not only the freedom to play sports, but to speak, learn and live as they choose. We must not forget them.

Again: there really is a foreign country that can and does issue demands to the British government and get swift compliance - for crackdowns, for access to our military assets, for huge tribute payments - and it isn’t Israel. It’s America.

there is another world where you are a notorious judge on a hit show called "the worlds most delicious dip". you are the one who always says the dip or salsa needs to be spicier and they have shirts with you on it saying that

I never thought I’d feel protective of the England team but this visceral anti-England BSky discourse is pissing me off. Somehow England’s ethnically diverse team represents the arrogance of the Brexit right but France’s ethnically diverse team represents progressive values? Come on
