If I saw this on the beach 🏖️ I’d probably get teary eyed. The scooter club is vibing. Thank you for all the people who help these dogs live their best life.

Inherited a set of dice from a close friend who passed away last summer. Used those dice in yesterday’s D&D game and rolled 4 crits in a row. I guess my friend wanted to hang out with us.

A cool consequence of basing page-flipping on detecting *any* relative motion is that it becomes more than a hand gesture - it's a full physical response! This means I can use *anything* to turn the pages, even by brushing the book against a stationary object. 🐧👄🐟🫗🔄️ #GodotEngine #gamedev #indiedev

Aw hell YEAH! This motion analysis tech has exceeded my expectations. Rubbing my face in that plant in VR was surreal. 📕🪴🧹 #GodotEngine #gamedev #indiedev #VR

Putting things together in a test level. I was afraid that navigation would be too tedious/random, but it's actually quite fun! #pico8 #gamedev

Last year I was on a solar design project and we had it so that the farm would pay itself off in a year and provide excess power for the entire state To them that was a problem

Josiah Mortimer@josiahmortimer.bsky.social

By 8:15am today solar was generating 70% more than our baseload usage. On a cloudy day, in England, in April!

We ended up having to tweak the project to fit into an 8 year payoff and there was a limit on how much energy we could produce. Makes sense because you can hook a V8 to a toothbrush and expect things to work out. This *can* be solved but it’s not really profitable and people have energy contracts

These contracts keep us locked in to buying a certain amount of energy from a provider and if renewable energy cuts into those contracts the project has to be reigned in. A lot of renewable energy would make things like coal energy plants almost obsolete. Substation and power banks are expensive

you're only supposed to upload non-free images to wikimedia commons as a last resort (even when the pics would clearly fall under "fair use"). and some editors end up explaining their reasoning VERY thoroughly when doing so

Finding out matter is destroyed is heartbreaking because what do you mean I’m not shiny stardust formed into meat but just a flame on the wick

In Turkey, an elderly man who earns his living by shining shoes is visited every morning at the same time by a cat that asks to have its fur brushed. The man never turns down this little friend.😍👍💙

i like to arrange my mac os dock so that frequently-used, low-memory apps like notes and calculator are right next to an app called Globohension Extracticrash Agnostify Compression Engine Mk. XIX that takes 45 minutes to load, five hours to close, and can only be used outdoors

Playing all these horror video games on stream makes me want to make a horror game SO badly. Or a movie. Or write a book. God I love horror.

I thought the idea of Americans all owning guns was to allow for "civilian-based militias to ensure security and deter potential federal tyranny", as per your 2nd Amendment? I hate to mention it, but it doesn't seem to be working. So much for all the arguments against restricting gun ownership...
