"the gays gained rights by voting for the homophobic democrats." no the democrats gained the votes of gay people when they started offering policy concessions, however slow and incremental. this also goes in reverse. offer incremental concessions to the right on trans issues and lose our support

@overduepod.bsky.social if the girl next door freaked you guys out I am curious about your thoughts on exquisite corpse, a book that I will never recommend to anyone ever as long as I live, which made me almost puke and still squicks me out nearly a decade later.

What is important right now for the Democrats to do is to discredit the political project of a Republican Party captured by far right extremists, and to kill dead any attempt at Redemptionist politics.

Ossoff: "What did we learn this morning? Yet another connection between Rep. Mike Collins and white nationalism, between Collins and neo-Nazi ideology. One of the congressman's staffers posting swastikas online and depicting himself in the costume of the Ku Klux Klan. Disgraceful and disqualifying."

You might disagree with Kavanaugh about the constitutionality of high school athlete genital inspections, but you can't deny he's always been very consistent in his support for nonconsensually groping teen girls.

One of the most consequential short films in history that explains why some people are like that. A load bearing part of early aughts random humor. Still a good watch too.

Polyamory allows space for wandering and exploration. My monogamous relationships, in retrospect, didn’t have that freedom that is a byproduct of those conversations

so in short: polyamory fucking rules. it's *so* fucking cool. you can do it if you want to. it ain't magic; it's just talking about your feelings with your loved ones, which you should already being doing anyway!!!! and now, time to start posting any of my ~60 drafts from the past four months lmao.

Motherfucker, I subsidize these jackasses by NOT driving my car and taking the train so they have less traffic. Jesus

Republicans in red states have gerrymandered to shit and back, often illegally, and when voters have passed initiatives to ban the practice, they have (even more illegally) ignored and undercut them. It is a little late to clutch your pearls and weep about the sanctity of democracy now

Shoegaze reposted

The number of Republicans crashing out about getting nakedly gerrymandered is, unironically, a sign that we need to do more of it. You guys are correct! This shit sucks! Welcome to the party, pals! We can all stop doing it any time you like!

I have the utmost respect for Senator Kaine and Senator Warner but we do not need “coaching” on redistricting coming from a cuck chair in the corner. How about you all stay focused on the fascist in the White House and let us handle redistricting in Virginia. 10-1

To any Hungarians annoyed that Americans are placing the credit for your momentous victory on the shoulders of our stunningly repellent little weasel of a VP: you are correct to feel that way, I'm sorry, we just want to seize any available oppurtunity to humiliate him specificially

Perhaps Magyar's most important promise, and the one that certainly resonates with voters: "never again a country without consequences!" The crowd chants: "To prison! To prison!" [with the corrupt officials of the outgoing government]

Thinking of all the military members serving in these operations. They courageously go where duty calls. Their sacrifices represent the best of us and they deserve leaders of integrity.

"Removing bovino doesn't solve the problem" I dunno, dude, it seems to entirely solve the problem of having bovino around. Bitch is a first town boss in a jrpg. He's not the end, but beating him allows you to progress and feel good about it.

The US Holocaust Museum being more outraged by Tim Walz saying that, like Anne Frank, children today are in hiding from armed agents of the state, than they are about the fact that children are in hiding from armed agents of the state, is why Holocaust remembrance culture is in crisis.

No reform is possible, this agency is a cancer. You don’t reform cancer - you destroy it.

Chris Murphy@chrismurphyct.bsky.social

We should not fund DHS without serious reform. We could return CBP to border. We could require warrants for immigration arrests. We could beef up training and require identification. The list of possible reforms is long. What's unacceptable is the current lawless status quo.

ICE agents are America's failures, basically indistinguishable from lazy school shooters, losers who want to play Call of Duty on our streets against people who can't fight back. They have unlimited ammo and toss tear gas like they're pressing L1. They have to be defunded and jailed. All of them.

You do realize that Trump is doing this because of who you are, right? Some part of this is because you were on the ticket in 2024 and he’s brutalizing your citizens to punish you. Own it. Force the issue of the national guard. Defend your citizens.

Governor Tim Walz@governorwalz.mn.gov

I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning. Minnesota has had it. This is sickening. The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.
