As context, it's important to know that in Seattle, there is one shelter bed for every three unsheltered people in Seattle.

any interest I could have in AI as something cool (I have been on computer since the 80s, online since the 90s) has been swiftly eclipsed by its corporate purveyors’ strip mining of what I love (writing, reading) and how I love to do it (good labor conditions for all)

It's the job of the media to scrutinize such statements and decide whether there's a story here at all (maybe the story is Anthropic researchers have fallen into a fantasy-land and brought many policymakers with them), not to just platform them. >>

And the video usually shows the opposite: that the agents rammed into the victim. But there are no consequences for the lies. So there’s no reason to stop telling them.

Julian Sanchez@normative.bsky.social

I can’t help but notice that ICE keeps claiming that people it shoots were trying to ram the agents with a car, and then video keeps proving that’s a lie.

Lee Colleton reposted

This is what ICE is. Firing repeatedly into a car with a baby inside. Whether it was negligence or deliberate, it is absolutely unjustifiable. This is literally the sort of thing that happened in Moscow during the 'Wild East' days of utter lawlessness. This is also Trump's America today.
