There’s also something to how women are socialized to be suspicious of flattery — it’s how we transfer responsibility for men’s desire onto women’s bodies; we are taught to defend against that in service to our “innocence” or whatever — whereas men accept flattery as their due. Perfect marks.

We opened a new space in Seattle, and last week was our grand opening event!! Folks visited from all over the area to explore Reuse Commons Lake City, chat with our partners, and share with us about how a reuse, repair, and share hub could benefit them ♻️🫶

Absolutely disgusting that this is legal.

In Mao’s China, officials reporting impossibly high grain yields led to famine as the government taking “surplus” grain starved citizens. The AI equivalent is reporting absurd productivity wins leading to layoffs

We stand for... democracy, of, by and for the people! - No Kings Seattle March 28th! 12-4 Cal Anderson Park. When we stand together, we win. We will not be silent. We will Speak up. We will march. What do you stand for? #NoKingsSeattle #Resist #wehavefriends #Seattle #NoKings

The concept of caring enough about your country to show up for free is completely incomprehensible to these people.

Sean Duffy: "The No Kings protest, Maria, really frustrating. This is part of antifa, paid protesters. It begs the question who's funding it."

Border Patrol “attempted to arrest a plumber working inside a Logan Heights home but left empty-handed after the homeowner refused them entry. The homeowner told agents she would not allow them inside because the warrant they presented did not include her address and lacked a judge's signature.”

The Ford Pinto had 27 fire fatalities in 9 years and everyone lost their minds. The Cybertruck has had 5 fire fatalities since it came out less than two years ago, and people are still buying them. They're death traps.

Owning a home has let me have stable housing for over 20 years. Everyone should have access to stable housing.

people who use AI as a replacement for thinking, learning and communicating should be shamed and punished. the same way we shame and punish drunk drivers, or people who negligently discharge firearms. it is bad to misuse tools in a way that damages society

The Washington Post trying to frame this as anything other than a massive failure is so pathetic. How did the organizers of this parade manage to make the mightiest military in the world look so toothless? Why is the paper who broke the Washington Post amplifying hollow propaganda? Shameful.

Planes roared over D.C. on Saturday, tanks rolled along the National Mall, brass bands resounded and thousands of soldiers marched past cheering crowds, as the Army put on the largest show of military might in the capital in more than three decades. wapo.st/4dYFOck

Timely perspective and wisdom from Rebecca Solnit. "I believe ardently that nonviolent resistance is ... the most effective strategy, but that doesn't mean it must be polite, placid, or please our opponents, not least because nothing ever will and they'll lie and distort no matter what." 💯

The mayor’s primary job is to keep people safe, and that means taking action to prevent danger & violence before it starts. A fundamentalist Christian, anti-trans “family values” demonstration never should have been permitted for Cal Anderson, in the heart of Seattle’s historic LGBTQ neighborhood.

Exactly! I keep hearing "wow, the two parties are so polarized, they're just on opposite ends of the political spectrum" NO! They're both beholden to billionaires and nobody is on the side of normal people. The Republicans are just better at convincing people they're on their side.

Government of the rich, by the rich, and for the rich.

Buying a home next to a well-known nude park (in a city that doesn't ban public nudity), and then getting mad that people are naked in the park, has to be the dumbest unforced error ever.

God forbid the Democrats do *anything at all*. They're really trying to just hide until this goes away, aren't they?
