Every airport needs a waiting room.

after statehood we'll have to rename the airport after someone who isn't awful and while duke ellington is probably the most sensible pick i think "fugazi international" really rolls off the tongue

I just voted early in person in Ohio (one location per county), and it's genuinely a pleasant feeling to see all my broadly-defined neighbors and the people who work or volunteer at the BoE. Wholesome civic duty!

Also I am sure that people on this website are going to fission mad at me over this, but voting is a social process. It's good and pro-social for us to all wander over to the neighborhood church or community center 1-2 times per year, joke with volunteers, and exercise our franchise together.

The macOS built-in curl, git, pip, python3, perl, ruby, and openssl all read /etc/ssl/cert.pem, which still has the emSign root, but they don't check revocation like Apple's Secure Transport libraries. This is, uh, a problem. git and pip especially. I added a short-term workaround to this page.

LITTLE NEMO (1911) was made before cel animation and Winsor McCay drew every single frame on sheets of white drawing paper. The film starts with a fictionalized portrayal of his animation process (starring the man himself) before switching to the hand-colored cartoon.

There's no hole deep enough for the people who made the decision to do this to the law-abiding Haitian refugees who revitalized dozens of America's dying small towns.

The paragraph beginning "The culture on X today is remarkably friendly and inclusive. It is a cheerful place. That cheerfulness is another differentiator." is going to turn out to be GNU/Linux or even Marine Todd-level copypasta, usually followed by a screenshot that would make Cecil Rhodes cringe.

Finished watching the OG The Hitcher on #Criterion last night. It absolutely did not hit like it did when I was 11 and at a sleepover, but some nice cinematography. Also, I approve of a movie with no Lore: no dark pasts, no trauma metaphors, no explanations, just A Series of Bad Things Happen.

Anyway if you actually want to get lots of eyeballs and exposure you shouldn’t be posting on X, a site whose viewership has cratered just over the last 12 months, you should be posting short-form videos on YouTube and TikTok. I don’t like it either but that’s how it is.

I was once told by a cop, at a training triggered by a sharp increase in drugging and SA at large events in the 2010s, that their job was to disprove allegations, that 99% of victims were liars, and they were there to lock up people who made false allegations. Which was basically everyone.

No one in their world would be impressed. Zines and cheap artist books mostly help you avoid dealing with awful people with too much power.
