BBC editors trying to work out to blur or not to blur the "Progress Poppy"

Every gothic horror:

The publisher behind the popular product 'Video games' has cancelled all production of video games. Again. For like the third time this month. It's absolute madness, and all of it because the dumbest motherfuckers who have ever lived are betting society itself on glorified autocorrect.

Sad news for cinephiles: Tilly Norwood has been killed in a Ukrainian drone strike.

"I don't know. Thousands of years ago it crashes and this thing… gets thrown out, or crawls out, and it ends up freezing in the ice." My take on a scene from The Thing featuring the brilliant matte painting art of Albert Whitlock.

The BBC charter section 6.4: "...the BBC should accurately and authentically represent and portray the lives of the people of the United Kingdom today, and raise awareness of the different cultures and alternative viewpoints that make up its society"

Late to the party, but enjoying Widow's Bay very much. 4 episodes in.

Too big to fail.

The most disappointing video you’ll see today.

Several weeks ago, Phil Tippett's legendary animation studio in Berkeley, CA closed. An anonymous hero noticed a folder of CDs. This turned out to be hundreds of unseen hi-res images and videos from Star Wars, Robocop, Jurassic Park, etc. ~90 isos for you to browse: archive.org/details/tipp...

I caught Rogue Trooper by @manmademoon.bsky.social at TIFF and wow, what a love letter to @2000ad.bsky.social… I liked seeing Gerry Finley-Day and @davegibbons90.bsky.social among the first names on screen, and the credits packed with real comic book panels. Afterwards we got a Paolo Rivera poster!

HAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA

Bit on the nose

Billionaires seem to be spending most of their money right now eliminating our existing jobs altogether.

Hearing that the 3 Rogue Trooper screenings at BFI LFF are all sold out already. Ah well.

I could take the BBC calling it a 'food pipe' if they do 'shit pipe' for health news at the other end.
