America's stupidest boomers are rising up.

Politico@politico.com

“I’m old. I’ve paid my home off,” said Ray Warner, a 72-year-old Akron resident. “Why would I pay property tax?” Across the country, homeowners are asking the same question and revolting against property taxes at a scale not seen in a half century.

Fellow fat people/people who wear plus sizes: what would real solidarity from your thinner friends & family look like for you? (Once again, asking thin & midsize people to sit this one out & just listen. Take notes & take action!)

This is one of my favorite things about humans, our ability to extend attributes of personhood even to things that do not require any respect. When it's a conscious practice, even better. (The flip side is also one of my least favorite things about humans.)

I believe it is good to be polite to robots not because they have consciousness (they do not) but because it is bad for the soul to let oneself become a vehicle for cruelty, even if directed at inanimate objects.

The techno-dystopia I actually fear is a future where most people think truth is whatever Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or Grok say, and the very small number of people who control those systems use that to manipulate for their own ends, making our current epistemic crisis seem small in comparison.

If I had one of these I would use it as a charcuterie board. Just serve little slices of meat & cheese on various layers. Although I could see the case for putting chess pieces on several of the slices to do like a surreal "Kirk & Spock play 3D chess" thing.

Having a mini existential crisis this morning contemplating animal* eyelids. They don't fold! The fur wouldn't fit properly if they did! Why do human eyelids fold?! No, I didn't get much sleep last night, why do you ask? *based on an incomplete survey of animals: my cat

Hello world! I am excited to share my campaign's debut reel. Happy Transit Month, too! Description: MJ tapping her card at the card reader and walking through a BART gate. She wears a helmet and pushes a bicycle with a handlebar bag and pannier.

Confession: I'm an agriculture nerd. I just joined a produce buyer's club to support local small POC farmers, yet my feelings and beliefs about ag often buck the conventional hippie organic trend. Here's a great piece that captures some of what I believe in: sarahmock.substack.com/p/why-we-hav...
