Today’s free newsletter has a very simple message: The AI industry can not (and will not) be bailed out - AI is not too big to fail, OpenAI is not AIG, this is not 2008, and all of this is nothing like the Dot Com Bubble. And when it fails, we must let AI burn. www.wheresyoured.at/let-ai-burn/

wheresyoured.atLet AI BurnIf you liked this piece, you should subscribe to my premium newsletter. It’s $70 a year, or $7 a month, and in return you get a weekly newsletter that’s usually anywhere from 5,000 to 18,000 words, in...

A commenter notes that "Trump managed to be both Hitler and Chamberlain in the same negotiation. An unprecedented feat." 😭

Used to think the big advantages of parliamentary systems was how they offered more ideological diversity than America's two parties but now I'm pretty cinvinced the chief advantage is that governments can collapse when they don't pass budgets and reform into one that will.

Things Ds can be fighting for now: - Recommit to Europe/Ukraine, stop appeasing Putin, who is helping Iran attack US - End the war, prevent US/global economies from going to sh*t - Roll back the inflationary tariffs - Rescind Trump tax cuts, ICE expansion - Make US clean energy superpower More 👇

America is in need of a major course correction: - Qatar warns new war could "bring down the economies of the world" - Disastrous jobs report, inflation is rising, fiscal condition worsening - Russia is helping Iran attack Americans Need a better way👇 www.hopiumchronicles.com/p/a-disastro...

The American people electing Trump after he staged a coup attempt 5 years ago was a nail in the coffin of our democracy. You can rationalize it all you want - But inflation! But wokeness! - but ultimately it was a societal suicide attempt and probably the dumbest collective voting decision ever made

PSA: When Trump says Biden had high inflation, he leaves out that it had come down by the time he left, and was among the lowest in the world when Trump took over — and that the inflation was a global issue everyone experienced post-COVID.

I've had a missile blow up next to my airplane, been shot at dozens of times by anti-aircraft fire, and launched into orbit — all for my country. I never thought I'd see a President call for my execution. Trump doesn’t understand the Constitution, and we're all less safe for it.

This is important. The GOP can open the government literally today with zero Democrats. Just ditch the filibuster. Go ahead. Why won’t they do it?

Good to see resolve/resilience from rank and file and House Democrats. Good on @rephuffman.bsky.social daring the republicans to abolish the filibuster ▶️ "[L]et them proceed with GOP votes and let the country see with perfect clarity who owns all the damage and destruction they're fomenting." When a right-wing man murdered Democratic lawmakers in Minnesota, progressives asked MAGA to tone down the rhetoric to prevent more violence. Within hours of Kirk’s murder, motive still unknown, the right is demanding that the government wage a campaign of violence against their enemies.

Chess analysis: By disconcertingly eating his own rook and two queen side pawns, Trump is opening up the board and affording himself various attacking and defensive plans during a congested middle game.

News Analysis: President Trump’s announcement that he could take up to two weeks to decide whether to put the U.S. into the heart of the Israel-Iran conflict is being advertised by the White House as giving diplomacy one more chance to work. But it also opens new military and covert options.

Every American generation made more than their parents until 1980. Reagan fixed that - and it has not returned. The rich are doing better than before the great depression. Marie Antoinette would blush.

Dems desperately need fresh leadership in power positions. That's why it's important Dems go with folks like @repjasmine.bsky.social or @aoc.bsky.social leading oversight - who know what it takes to take on the Trump regime in the modern media landscape unlike most of their boomer counterparts.

I simply don't believe bitter infighting to produce a watered-down party agenda is the best way to do that. Bring in fresh blood. Fight Trump. Support broad, popular goals like fair play, shared prosperity, and civil equality as an alternative. The tent will grow. www.offmessage.net/p/democratic...

Donald Trump's first 100 days have been characterized by the most flagrant corruption imaginable. Today, I want to talk about 10 of the absolute worst examples. (Thread 🧵)

"Homegrown criminals are next" to be sent to the Salvadoran concentration camp without due process, beyond the reach of the US Constitution. Regime critics beware.

Here's Trump saying to Bukele that "homegrown criminals are next" and talking about how El Salvador will need to build "about five more places."

This will be a super-handy way for businesses to buy tariff waivers. Tim Apple can whip out his iPhone, blast some shitcoin in Trump's coffers and, voila, no more tariffs on Apple products!
