I have like a spidey sense for switch 2 hacking or something, I decided to check in on the scene today and learn there was a userland exploit released literally just today. but I wasn't quick enough to purchase the vulnerable game from the eShop lol

I'm writing a mod in C# and it's reporting a warning on line 3 of a file but the warning is blank for some reason so the "problems" overview just looks like this

No joke. I think this is the most important video I have ever seen about mobile games. This guy breaks down how this game psychologically profiles you, and makes the game harder or easier in order to show you ads

It still takes me like three tries every time to figure out how to add something to my reading list on mobile Safari

Replying to @dankaszeta.bsky.social

You can be an expert on things you are opposed to. Just because you have knowledge of something and can explain it in detail, it does not necessarily follow that you are a proponent of them

does anyone know how @jevbot.bsky.social actually works? since it's basically just a classifier. does it, like, have a dictionary of words that it's asked to choose from repeatedly?

will I see anyone else on the Airo tours tomorrow? I've got a reservation for the 5:00–5:30 PM slot

Two new Airo trainsets debut Wednesday on Amtrak Cascades, but here's a sneak peek.

oh thank god I'm not the only one with complaints about Mission Control on macOS 27

Incredible. First Secretary Mullin claimed that DHS had identified 15,903 noncitizens on Nevada’s voter roll. Then DHS officials told a skeptical Nevada, no no no, that’s just people we flagged. Here are the names of 185 people we KNOW aren’t citizens. All 185 were citizens. DHS got 100% wrong.

From 16,000 to 185 to Zero: Trump’s Claims of Illegal Voting in Nevada Fizzle. "The state sent a strongly worded rebuke to the federal government: Every single person on the list was a lawful citizen."

Hmm should I shop at Blue Kroger or Red Kroger today? Tough choice

I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re preparing to completely homogenize their brands into just Kroger. They’ve given their employees new Kroger-brand uniforms too.

“transplant” discourse is great because you get to see how easily people can swaddle their insular, reactionary beliefs with left-coded language

Gremliny Nussboo@emilynussbaum.bsky.social

I truly don’t understand this “transplant” nonsense. The whole THING about NYC is that ppl come here from other places to mutate into New Yorkers! TO SEE IF THEY CAN BE KING OF THE HILL, TOP OF THE HEAP! Imho a rando who moved here a year ago is the MOST NY person. Welcome Ohio rando, have a bagel

If you’re shopping for conjunctions don’t bother going to Safeway. They don’t even have “yet” or “so”

why do people still choose literally anything other than monaco for web-based embedded text editors? everything else (CodeMirror, Ace) high-key sucks ass in comparison

Short thread: 18 months ago, as part of their assault on higher ed, Trump/DOGE/Vought terminated my friend Kelton Minor's NIH Director's award that would have allowed him to take a faculty position there. Without the funds, Columbia ultimately rescinded the position. Kelton moved to Denmark.

There are days in life that shake you. I’m shattered 💔 to share that I just found out that the US Government terminated my 2024 NIH Director’s Early Independence Award (~$2 million), threatening my long-promised assistant professor job at Columbia University & academic career... 1/🧵

It is so mentally corrosive to try to ascertain, every day, whether the images I am seeing or the texts I am getting or the phone calls I am receiving are real - produced by a human who is trying to communicate something with me, even indirectly. It makes me feel insane and paranoid all the time

I think The Urbanist is such a singular organization in the way it combines journalism, advocacy, and community building. It’s a big part of why Seattle is transforming so rapidly (mostly in good ways!), and it’s why I’ve been a member for years. Consider doing likewise!

It's The Urbanist's Fall Member Drive, and we're fundraising to expand our team so Doug, Ryan, and the rest of our team can keep bringing you the regional coverage you deserve. Donate to help us hit our member goal, read ad-free, and support our work! www.theurbanist.org/membership/

if I had a nickel for every time I uncovered an obscure Chromium bug while investigating an issue at work I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's strange it's happened twice

if a GitHub repository requires Copilot auto-reviews for pull requests, the usage is billed to the PR author instead of the repo owner, and there's no way for the PR author to opt-out of the auto review or even an indication that you're about to be billed for usage ??? who made this decision

like it just kicks off a Copilot review when you open the PR and, depending on repo settings, on every subsequent push, and sometimes even draft PRs!!!

I replay Portal 2 every so often since its release and as I get older each time around I appreciate its humor a bit more

also the soundtrack that perfectly fits the atmosphere of the game. you've done it again, mike morasky

You know, honestly, more than monetary donations, if somebody worked at a company that had access to a lot of 18 terabyte and larger hard drives and could talk to us, that's where we are really suffering. The internet archive has no special priority in buying hard drives and those things are insane.
