Do I know anyone who works at #Slack? If so, can they make an awesome new feature that let's me merge channels to reduce the friggin sprawl I'm dealing with for the duplicate topic channels I keep getting added to? That would be so incredible!

I got a new kitten today!!! I'm so excited! He's 5 months old and was named Spirit. I like the name so I think we'll keep it but we'll see what my kid says when he gets home. 💖😁😹

@todaywasawesome is kicking off #ArgoCon 2025 in Atlanta! We’re starting strong with an incredible fact: 66% of Kubernetes users are already using Argo projects 💙 — a true testament to the power, adoption, and community behind Argo CD, Workflows, Rollouts, and Events. 👇

I've been off social media for a while now for a mental break, but I'm back this week to watch the #kubecon feeds. Still avoiding the main feed though. Geez I wish I was in Atlanta with everyone! FOMO is real

Is it just me or is it now cheaper to pay for cable than for all the streaming services?!? The back of napkin math isn't looking so nice...

Love this: "Apple could, rather than creating golden bribes for child sexual predators, actually send a message to its users explaining that it would like to continue providing value to its customers, and ask those customers for help making that case to their elected officials"

Anil Dash@anildash.com

I guess I actually was pretty mad about that stupid golden paperweight www.anildash.com/2025/09/09/h...

I so wish I could be there for this. It looks like it'll be a great event. #fomo

I can't believe looking Hispanic or speaking Spanish is now evidence of a crime. That's next level racist bullshit! On the flip side, does that mean we can start arresting the ultra rich on suspicion of embezzlement & other crimes just because they are rich? That's what that ruling implies, right?

So weird how no one invented "looking busy at work despite not being busy" until recently. You'd think someone would've come up with that before now, but no, it's a new trend, with a name that is definitely real and commonly used.

The president of the United States just declared war, actual military war, not a metaphorical one, on a major American city, and one governed by his political opponents. In any other period, this would be impeachment-worthy.

Spent my video game hour today playing the Anno 117: Pax Romana demo. It was only an hour so I don't have much of an opinion yet but for whatever reason even though that style game is my jam, I just can't figure out the money making mechanics on it & I always go broke. 😢

I got to say, I've been really happy with bearable.app. It's really helped me understand & track my mood/pain the last 2-3 months. Even though I'm on the mend physically I think I'm going to keep using it for mood tracking. The insights/correlations have been really useful.

Do we have metrics on how often LLMs generate similar blocks of code across the industry? Most software being developed isn't unique, and it seems we'd be better served by new frameworks, and higher level abstractions. But then we're back to the discovery problem, something LLMs seem to help with.

Dear streaming services, "no ads" also means no friggin pre rolls advertising your own shows. Those are still annoying ads that I'm paying you not to see...

All kidding about this nonsense answer aside: The regime is asserting the power to murder without trial a boat full of people suspected of drug trafficking, who easily could have been intercepted and arrested instead. That is unconscionable and horrifying even assuming everyone aboard was guilty.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Q: On the Venezuela vessel strike, what legal authority were you guys working under? JD VANCE: The legal authority is there are people who are bringing -- literal terrorists -- who are bringing deadly drugs into our country

Again, Woke is just "👩🏼Wow... I admit, I didn't know that many Black people growing up, so I didn't know any of this! Before I knew this stuff, a lot of things Black people ask for seemed... really unreasonable? But... the more I learn about this stuff, the more reasonable their asks seem?"

I just don't understand the promotion/celebration of traitors in this country. These people rebelled and killed their fellow country mean for _slavery_, money, and power. They deserve to be remembered in history only as examples of what not to do. They are not people to look up to.

The Pentagon is restoring a portrait of Gen. Robert E. Lee, which includes a slave guiding the Confederate general’s horse in the background, to the West Point library three years after a congressionally mandated commission ordered it removed, officials said. www.nytimes.com/2025/08/28/u...

Wow, I can look up in the air without neck/back pain. I haven't been able to do that in many, many years. 😄 Though I did rollover onto my right arm so now I can't move it today again. That probably means I'll need the shoulder injection too but that's ok. But this is great progress! I'm so happy!!

I could have sworn there was something called innocent until proven guilty that prevented some of this stuff... Also, why not focus on the white collar business crime that costs many millions and is rarely prosecuted and impacts hundreds of thousands of Californians each year?!?
